Great tour with entertaining, knowledgeable Luca! Visited wonderful range of traditional food stores and producers and tasted the most amazing porchetta, suppli, gelato, cheese, proscuitto, bigne, the list goes on. Followed by a delicious lunch and two desserts, foodie heaven!! The perfect way to experience Roman food and the area of Trastevere!
This tour was amazing! It was exactly what i was looking for in terms of knowing some of the history of Rome food culture, dining etiquette, and those typical Roman foods but in a neighborhood that is less crowded and touristy. Sarah was a fabulous guide and also very accommodating for both vegetarians and nut-free diets. I highly recommend taking the time and money to do this tour to get a glimpse of real Roman and Italian food and people, away from the touristy city centre.
Excellent tour. The tour was a group of about 12 people from different countries. The guide was originally from the U.S. but has lived in Rome for several years. She was awesome She knew all of the owners of the places we visited on the tour. She did an awesome job of explaining the background of each merchant/restaurant and the food we would be eating. It was fun, very social and an awesome way to see Rome in a different way - off the beaten path in an area where Romans live and work. Highly recommend it.
This tour was Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I loved this tour. Our tour guide Kate was very knowledgable and lots of fun. We already loved Roman food before the tour, but she helped us understand how Romans prepare and appreciate food! Highly recommend this tour!!!!!
This was an excellent tour. We went on a Saturday morning and had such a good time. The food was amazing and it was really fun to walk around the Trastevere neighborhood. Everything was off the beaten path and filled with locals. Our guide, Sarah, knew lots of interesting facts and was fun to spend time with I highly recommend this tour.
This tour was one of the main highlights of our stay in Rome. Our tour guide Georgia was amazing- it was like a history tour combined with the gourmet delights of Trastavere. Really good value considering the delicious food we had to eat as well as everything else. We wish we had gone on this tour at the beginning of our stay so that we could revisit some of the establishments again
Our guide, Domenico, was outstanding! Do this tour early in your trip and then go back to the area on your own.
Amazing, amazing! Not just great food tastes but stories and history of that neighborhood.
Oh my gosh one of the best experiences of our entire trip. A must for foodies. Our guide Anna Butterworth is so good at her job. We could all see the close personal relationships she has established with her vendors, there is true bonding there. We thought we knew about the Italian food scene, we came away with so much knowledge. No question that we would do this again.
Excellent exposure to authentic Italian food and the neighborhood of Trastevere. I went to Trastevere on my own and could not find the wonderful local vendors that our guide showed us on this tour, I am glad I booked this and returned. The list of restaurants suggestions is worth the price alone! Loved it!
Rogelio was great, very informative on the cuisine, history, and culture.
Delicious food, definitely recommend!
You have to take this tour! Our first trip to Roma, it helped us initiate our tastebuds to Roma cuisine and sample a few glasses of the local vino too! Jasmine was very informative, great English, and entertaining. First time booked with Viator; bought three tours--ALL were great experiences!
We had such a great time on our food tour! Our guide, Georgia, was very knowledgeable and fun. We ate really well!
We all loved the tour, food was fabulous and so was our guide Eric. Went back to one of the stops for dinner a few days later. Highly recommend it.
What a fun day! All 10 stops were fantastic, giving a taste of some well- and lesser- known Roman food traditions, and a glimpse into everyday life and culture in an ancient neighborhood. We will definitely be back!
The Trastevere Food Tour was great! Jasmine was very accommodating, cheerfully taking ten of us around all of the traditional Trastevere haunts. I'd recommend this tour to anyone.
Bethany was fabulous! Her knowledge of the area, history of the food and the families behind the food was perfect. We felt like family being with her on this tour! There is so much food to eat, be sure to come with an empty stomach. The walk is lovely, slow paced so good for pretty much anyone. We would do this one again!
guide was good, knew her way - sarah
good to start with this tour, than use the knowledge the rest of the holiday
Amazing trip thank you Eric our guide very informative, we learned much mire about Rome. Highly recommend.
The tour was fantastic and it really allowed us to taste the local Roman food and dishes. The guide was very knowledgable, good to talk to and added his own personality to the trip. The group size was perfect 6 and the tour was great to speak to new people.
The ticket from Viator was wrong though, it stated arrival for 1045 but the tour didn't start until 1130.
Rogelio was a plethora of Italian information. Better than any guide book! The food amazing. I totally recommend this tour!
The food was a wonderful combination of delicious foods. I loved the size of the tastings- enough to be satisfying but not too much that I couldn't complete the tour. The travel guide was very sweet and energetic. She was incredibly helpful and even walked us to the next place in our adventure. During the walk she shared historical information about the places we passed. The only disappointment was that she was not from Italy so couldn't share her own personal experiences of having a long Italian family history. She was a wealth of information.
I found Sebastiana terrific- unfortunately, there were two other co-workers who were busy on their phones - calling and messaging people, and not really joining in on the tour. I think they presented an obstacle to our guide- she basically had to ignore them. I enjoyed meeting everyone- but I thought the other two who work for your company took away from the tour. I would suggest that if you have people from within the company who want to tour- they should put their phones away- and pretend they are taking the tour like everyone else. This tour is expensive - but I think Sebastiana did a good job- and the food was great.
