We were so lucky with this tour. There were four of us and just the four of us on the tour. Perfect. Our guide was lovely and gave us a whistle stop tour of Rome, stopping at all of the prime tourist spots and allowing us enough time to take a quick look and take a few photos. She gave us lots of information about the various historical sites. We were so lucky with the weather too, it was forecast rain with thunder and lightning, but we only had a 15minute quick shower. I can't quite imagine that we would have enjoyed it as much if it had rained the whole time. We would usually tend to do a walking tour, but I have a problem with my foot at the moment which meant that I wanted to try and limit the amount of walking I was going to do over the course of the few days we had in Rome, so the bike tour was a perfect solution and ticked all the boxes. Any tour like this, gives you a start on getting your bearings with where everything is and can even give you more ideas on places you might not have originally considered seeing and also on spotting bars and restaurants to try out. Not sure how well it would work when it is high season, with more pedestrians and cars to deal with. But for us it was definitely well worth it.
A beautiful day in Rome traversed by bike. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely patient as we peddled through the streets of Roma. He gave us plenty of time to take our wacky photos and he even offered to watch our bags.
Catalina was amazing! She shared lots of information and history on all the locations and as we rode around town. We made all the highlights that we were hoping to see and couldn't be happier. It was a perfect way to explore the city.
This tour is so much fun. We cycled casually around Rome and stopped at all the iconic sights along the way. Our tour guide was fantastic. Our booking two days earlier had to be cancelled due to unforeseen rain so my husband and I, along with six others were accommodated in a tour two days later. We only speak English and the other six guests only spoke Portuguese. The guide effortlessly switched between the two languages to explain each sight and patiently waited for any guests who got left behind due to traffic lights, etc. This tour is a great way to see Rome and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Italy's capital.
No better way to discover the sights of Rome. Our guide Katarina was amazing. She made sure we were safe while traveling and her knowledge of Rome and its history was so informative. She was patient and did not rush and though we visited some sighs we had seen before - she made it feel like it was the first time. Highly recommend.
great overview of the major sites of Rome - our guide was very knowledgeable and fit a lot in to a short amount of time
We really enjoyed our bike tour of Rome, it is such a great way to get to see all the main attractions in a short space of time. Our guide took us to all the sites on out of traffic laneways as it was a busy time of year. She was very passionate about the history and life and times of early Rome. The bikes were well maintained and had a basket and lock for your use. Thankyou!
We would highly recommend this tour. We were fortunate enough just to have the two us only with Cataronia as our guide. She was amazing! The tour covered all of the key elements of Rome and was perfect to give us an overview on our first day. Catarina's knowledge and passion about Rome was clear. In one tour we saw the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and many squares in 3 hours.
Despite my lack of coordination on the bike she was very patient and helpful.Thumbs up
Very good tour with just the two of us with a very knowledgeable guide who was an architect in a previous life and had great insight into Roman History , bikes very good quality, office a little hard to find.
This tour was brilliant. Katya was a great guide; the right mix of information and humour introducing us to all the sights and attractions. She offered local knowledge, which helped us during our trip and us was a very personal tour as we were the only 2 people there! A 5 star experience.
What an incredible experience around the city! Our tour guide, Federico, fully encapsulated the spirit of Rome and brought each building and story to life! It does get warm and the city is not friendly to bike in so be careful! Fully recommend this tour!
This bike tour was recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint! We are a family with children aged 13, 10 and 8 and this was a great way to see some major sights and get our bearings in Rome. The max number for each tour is 5 so we filled all the slots making it in effect a private tour, and our guide, Claudia, was v friendly and knowledgeable. I was concerned that it might be difficult in the heat 30 deg, but actually whilst cycling you are getting a bit of a breeze, as opposed to a walking tour which would have been very tiring in the heat, and of course would take a lot longer to see the same stuff! We were only on the main roads for short stretches but mainly used side streets, alleys, and footpaths. Our children were able to manage it with no problems. A really fab experience!
The best way to see Rome or any city for that matter I did this tour with my 15 year old son. Supposedly, the day we went out on our bike ride, Rome was a little more crowded than usual, so it was a bit difficult navigating through the packed squares and streets. If you're from a place where you have lovely bike lanes, be prepared for a rude awakening and a large culture shock: it's acceptable to ride on the side walk, ring your bell at the passersby, and generally engage in behavior that is thought of as unacceptable in countries read: parts of the U.S where there are pristine bike lanes. I mention this because it was a mental shift that we had to make in order to actually be able to ride through the thick crowds AND enjoy the experience. If not, it can be a bit frustrating trying to weave through the crowds. You ride past all of the main attractions, so it's a great way to do a tour of the main attractions on the first day, and then you can always return to explore a few locations in a bit more depth the following day. Our guide, Paolo was so patient and extremely knowledgable. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is in decent shape
We had a marvellous bike tour in Rome with a fantastic guide! The guide showed us the most important places of Rome to be seen and had some beautiful tips we followed without regrets! The best thing to do when discovering a city.
We had a very fun time on our bike tour and so glad we did this!! We had a really wonderful tour guide and was able to go through and see many things in Rome. We were only there for one day we were on our way to another destination, and wanted to see as much as we possibly could. This was the best 3 hours we could have spent in Rome and would highly recommend to anyone!
did not get to go on this tour as there was a booking error made.
This was great fun and a great way to see a lot of Rome in a short time. Biking through the back alleys is definitely the way to go and our guide knew them all! It's not very strenuous with only a few uphill sections that were a bit tough.
Wheely is the best!!! My wife and I had a early morning tour so the first person that we met was Marco. He was very pleasent to talk to and set us up with our bikes that seemed to be almost new in condition. A few minutes later we met our guide Ricardo. What an amazing historian he is of the city of Rome. He has a love and passion for what he does. We toured many of the most famous and historic sites of the city including squares and fountains and took some amazing photos. This is a must do tour.
Our guide Katia was good and very knowledgable. You are taken to Rome and #39;s top sights and we frequently stopped for water and for an Ice cream! Which was much needed in Rome and #39;s heat. The bikes were in good condition with handy baskets. I would recommend this tour to everyone who can ride a
ABsolutely amazing! Our guide was so knowledgeable and truly made the tour incredible!! THis is THE BEST way to tour Rome by far. This is my SECOND time booking this tour with Wheely Bike Rental in Rome.
Wanted to let everyone know what an incredible experience the bike tour was with Wheely Bike Rental! Our tour leader, Katia, was very informative and very personable. The tour was very loosely structured and she allowed us to take more time on things that we personally found most interesting. Anna in the office was very outgoing and very funny. Anna is the person that every company needs to deal with their customers.
I rec. bike tours over walking tours...you see more and have fun doing it. This was with a great company that worked with us when we had some rough train connections. We were able to reschedule for the next morning. Now that is customer service!
Lovely bike tour--fun way to get oriented to the city. Loved the personal attention.
