Varmtours- Is There Worse Than Terrible?

Varmtours left my family stranded for our tour to Florence not once, but twice. The first time they didn't show (Thursday), they said they had us scheduled for the next day (Friday). Understanding there must have been a communication error between Viator and Varmtours, I moved tours around so we could go when Varmtours had us scheduled (Friday). Of course, moving tours around, last minute, cost us more money. However, after a lot of back and forth calls and texts between both companies, we got confirmation (from both companies) that we were good to go for Friday. Varmtours even gave us the name of our tour guide - Andrea. Sadly, my family was ready an waiting for Andrea to show up at 6:45 am, but, of course, she never came. This was our last day in Italy and it was not how we imagined it. Varmtours should have been honest with us and told us they were overbooked. We would have still been upset, but at least we could have figured out what we were going to do before the morning of our last day. We decided to go to Florence on our own, but without a tour guide, learned nothing and same-day train tickets were expensive. We weren't able to book any excursions because they were all booked. There were no same day tickets to see the David and we didn't get to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa as part of our original tour description, Viator should really part ways with Varmtours.

Do not book this tour! We attempted to reach the tour company to confirm our hotel address 3 times via chat and they never got back to us. After contacting Trip Advisor directly they told me that the address was correct and that we would be picked up the next day at 7 am from our hotel. We waiting 3 hours in front of our hotel for the tour guide to pick us up. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!! We called trip advisor again that morning and they told us that this tour does not exist! We are still waiting for our refund and they are not replying for 3 days. Save yourself the hassle and stress and DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR!

Florence and Pisa in a single day, worth doing it. The guide knows where to take you in order to see the most important places of interest. We have been lucky, we had a girl called Sabina as a guide. She was knowledgeable and patient with the members of our group who were slower. I really enjoyed the trip.

It's a "no show"

Waited for 1.5 hour and figured that tour company was not going to pick us up. Totally ruined the day and messed up our plan.... Very disappointed not seeing Pisa tower with this trip. Contacted Viator and got the refund. Kids looked up the review and apparently, we were not the first victim.

This tour did not push through. We waited for over thirty minutes but we were not picked up as scheduled. When we called the number provided by Viator, lady who answered said that the trip is cancelled and would give us a refund. We've had no refund yet. We need Viator's help in getting our money back!

We really had a bad experience on this! Noone showed up on the date and time of pick up/tour! We tried contacting the local operator (Varmtours) but it never answered our calls. We even searched for its other contact details but to no avail! We called the viator customer hotline and they too cannot contact the local operator. We waited and paid for nothing! This essentially ruined our trip! Be wary in booking tours like this! It was too late for us to know that there were other experiences in the past when the same local operator (Varmtours) never showed up! Be fully warned!

Never happened. Waited 1 1/2 hours waited 1 1/2 hours for pick up at hotel. No one arrived and no contact. Extremely angry and disappointed by missing out in the tour.

Mikaela was an excellent guide very energetic!! She was amazing!The tour was fun! The only concern is the confirmation the day before. It was a challenge to reach the office but if you can't connect just call Viator and they will help you.
