What You Can Expect

Frascati Wine Tasting Tour from Rome

Sample fine wines from the Frascati region during your winetasting tour

After hopping aboard your coach in Rome, head out of the city with your guide, and admire the scenery as it changes from urban to rural. Travel through the hilly region of Castelli Romani, passing by olive groves and centuries-old vineyards where wine has been made since the days of Ancient Rome.

Reaching the Frascati region, you’ll arrive at the Principe Pallavicini estate, where the Pallavicini family has been making wine since the 17th century. Tour the property to learn about the different stages of wine production, from grape to bottle, and hear about the evolution of winemaking techniques through the years.

Visit the wine cellars, which date back to the 3rd century, and learn about the acacia and French oak barrels that age the fine wines produced here, many of which have won awards such as the Decanter World Wine Award and Vinitaly Cangrande Award. Then head to the 17th-century farmhouse for your tasting session with a sommelier, who helps you to notice different fruit flavors of the wines. You’ll sample one of the estate's red wines, such as Casa Romana or Soleggio, a white wine such as Poggio Verde and a dessert wine, Stillato.

At the end of your winery experience, your tour ends with the drive back to Rome.

We loved this tour! It was great to visit the winery, walk in the vineyard and down into the cellar. Our guides Mario and I can and #39;t remember the other guide and #39;s name, were knowledgeable and funny. The wine tasting with the wine expert was a real treat. And we were able to take some home! Worth the trip!

I'd give this 6 stars if I could. We had a very good, relaxing time. We sampled four of their wines and they were available for purchase, as well as their olive oil, after the tour.

The wine was from the Frascati region but not Frascati wine. That being said, the tour was great.

Amazing experience with Antonina who is a true passionate and so kind, our driver Francesco was very nice as well. I couldn't imagine that just 30min from Rome we could feel in Tuscany, the vineyards are beautiful and the wine tasting with an experienced sommelier was very interesting. Definitely an activity to recommend to get out of Rome for an afternoon!
