What To Expect

After hopping aboard your coach in Rome, head out of the city with your guide, and admire the scenery as it changes from urban to rural. Travel through the hilly region of Castelli Romani, passing by olive groves and centuries-old vineyards where wine has been made since the days of Ancient Rome.
Reaching the Frascati region, you’ll arrive at the Principe Pallavicini estate, where the Pallavicini family has been making wine since the 17th century. Tour the property to learn about the different stages of wine production, from grape to bottle, and hear about the evolution of winemaking techniques through the years.
Visit the wine cellars, which date back to the 3rd century, and learn about the acacia and French oak barrels that age the fine wines produced here, many of which have won awards such as the Decanter World Wine Award and Vinitaly Cangrande Award. Then head to the 17th-century farmhouse for your tasting session with a sommelier, who helps you to notice different fruit flavors of the wines. You’ll sample one of the estate's red wines, such as Casa Romana or Soleggio, a white wine such as Poggio Verde and a dessert wine, Stillato.
At the end of your winery experience, your tour ends with the drive back to Rome.

The tasting room was way too small to be comfortable with our group size

My adult daughter, niece, and myself enjoyed the wine tour immensely. Laura was a lively, interesting tour guide. Really lived up to expectations.

We chose this tour the night before because Rome was so hot, crowded and dry. The bus was on time. Our guide Chiara was fantastic. The cellars at the aqueducts were very neat. The sommelier was pleasant and educational. We really enjoyed the wines as well. Bought four bottles. The scenery was beautiful. Of the 13 events booked on this vacation, this ranked very high. Our bus broke down at the wine fields and cellars. That delayed our time and a negative for some, but for me it made it better, staying longer in the fields in a beautiful and peaceful location. It was all handled well and professionally.

This was everything and more, tour guide Monica met us at the Piazza Re Di Roma and the journey was only 45 minutes to the vineyard. Along the way she gave us a historical guide of Rome and more importantly about the wine and food. Would highly recommend. The vineyard tour itself was well planned and informative, met a great crowd there.

Our guide Aleksandra spelling? was very knowledgeable and she did an awesome job translating at our tasting! Everything from start to end went smoothly. Learned lots of things at the tasting, even bought a bottle of wine which unfortunately got left at a restaurant . Definitely recommend!

My daughter and I enjoyed this tour on our last night in Rome. What a relaxing way to end our trip. Gorgeous scenery, delightful staff, and delicious wine! The history of our location and education on the making of wine was amazing. A plus was the small group size that we went with. Made the experience much more friendly.

Excellent sights to see leaving the city. The winery tour was interesting and we talked with the manager, Marco, who explained the process perfectly. Then we travelled to a property where we tasted 4 wines from the region, complete with explanations from a sommelier on how to taste and enjoy the wine. The only downside was the ancient bus that didn't have proper air conditioning until 3 hours into the tour. Our guides Maria and Inga were informative and swear in their English.
