We are so glad we took this trip. At first we thought the day would be too long, but it was just the right amount of time. Our guides were efficient in getting us from place to place including at the train stations and were knowledgeable about the best things to see in Florence in one day. We were able to see all the highlights museum, top works, The David, etc. and still had free time to explore on our enjoy and enjoy the food and atmosphere of Florence. There was planned trip to a leather store which at first, I thought was a gimmick to get us to buy goods, but the explanation of Florence's history of leather making was interesting, brief and came with no pressure to buy. Remember there is a lot of walking on this tour, streets in Florence are hard to walk on so bring sturdy shoes. Also remember to keep up with the group. A couple walked too slowly and was left behind several times. Overall, highly recommended if you only have a day to see Florence.
What a beautiful city! A must see while you are in Italy.
Loved loved loved this trip. Our guide Andres was wonderful, the lunch not exactly upscale but tasty, and our tour of a beautiful leather store was a nice touch. Lots of walking, which was OK for me, but those with disabilities should be aware that it is a long day with lots of walking. I also appreciated the time we were given to explore by ourselves because my husband and I wanted to see some points of interest that were not part of this tour. Fantastic photos from this trip
It was an amazing one day side trip on our Rome vacation. Our very knowlegable guide in Florence took us on a small walking tour on the way to the Uffizi, showing us the highlights and giving us time to absorb the beauty. The Uffizi Gallery is a must see, as is the row upon row of jewelry shops on the Ponte Vecchio watch the karat weight of the gold there - a lot is only 9k, not 14k. Everything was timed beautifully, we were not left waiting anywhere. I highly recommend this one day trip. The train ride gives you a real sense of what Italy looks like past the tourist spots. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
It was a great trip, we loved it as a family. One day though is not enough and I would like to return again and stay longer.
Good way to see Florence in a day. No problems getting to train station . Our hotel was near the Gray Line office and the train station, so was easy walk for us. Train ride was fast, but trains are configured with seats facing each other, so not a lot of leg room and be prepared to looking at your seat mates the whole time. Tour guides were informative and friendly. Got to see sights we hadnt in past. Included a very nice lunch and had plenty of time on our own. Would recommend this tour if staying in Rome and want to include a short trip to Florence.
Great trip! The train was scenic and quick, so you didn't feel like you were stuck. Once you arrive the tour is nice, a guide will take you around and you do get plenty of free time which was great. The food provided was very good as well. I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but no complaints.
Don't forget that you can bargain with merchants at the Market for deals on purses and souvenirs. This city is known for its leather.
Excellent trip. Everything went without a problem. The high speed train was a great experience and I wish we had these in the US. Claudia did an excellent job coordinating everything and our local guide was excellent. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.
This was a great way to do a one day trip to Florence. Although it was very expensive, we'd recommend. Our local guide in Florence was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing information. The transportation was easy - was great to have a pickup at our hotel. This was a bit difficult to arrange as we were supposed to call 48 hours previous. I was not going to pay for an international call as we were not arriving 48 hours previous so I did a bit of sleuthing and e-mailed the tour provider... The lunch provided was nice. The leather factory tour could be left out - just a pitch for sales and expensive sales... Sometimes the directions given by the guide from Rome were not very clear - that could be improved. One thing that was frustrating for me was the lack of agenda. I had to call Viator to get details as we wanted to book some things in our free time. The times of things were not provided. As it was, the information I was given was incorrect so we had to make some last minute changes. I found that out when I was e-mailing with the provider. All in all it was a good experience. It was nice to sit back on the fast train and relax - letting someone else worry about the details.
Well Organized. Andreas, the main trip organizer, did a good job with the large group. Fabio, our Florence and museum tour guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable and spoke English and Spanish flawlessly. The lunch was very tasty for a tour lunch. Recommended.
