What You Can Expect

Semi Private Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Tour with Lunch Included

See Pompeii on a day trip from Rome!

Your Amalfi Coast tour starts as you depart Rome by minivan for the drive south into the Campania region of southern Italy. This is a small-group tour with maximum of seven/eight people per minivan, which ensures a personalized experience.

During the approximate 3-hour journey, your driver-guide will tell you about what to expect from the day.
On your day trip to Pompeii enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of its World Heritage-listed ruins that were covered in volcanic ash from the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. As you explore with your guide, learn about the discovery of the ruins in the 18th century and hear stories about life in the village during the days of Ancient Rome.

Your next destination is an authentic family-run oil mill that produces its own olive oil and where you can taste it in the coastal garden with a wonderful view of the Gulf of Naples! You will also enjoy a light lunch consisting of pasta with fresh tomatoes sauce or other home-grown seasonal vegetables, Caprese Salad (Mozzarella cheese and locally-produced tomatoes) water and, finally, limoncello (other drinks are not included).

In the afternoon we’ll spend some time exploring Positano, where you can enjoy a walk around the delightful village with its white and pastel-colored houses littering the hillside. You can visit the beautiful beaches, where you can relax or have a swim, stroll around the ancient fishing port and see the splendid majolica dome of the church of Santa Maria Assunta.

Your day trip then ends with the drive back to Rome.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. While a long day picked up at 7am and dropped off at 7:30pm, it was full of amazing sights and experiences. Our driver, Khan, made it his goal to provide a comfortable, safe, informative, and friendly ride. He also scheduled the stops to avoid as much as possible large tour bus overlaps. On the Amalfi coast we stopped in Positano - lovely cliff-side town with all sorts of shops - but VERY crowded! On the way to Pompeii, we stopped for a light meal at a quaint cliff-side restaurant and were served capris salad, bread, and pasta. Pompeii was amazing - for this type of tour the time spent there was adequate - although my husband and myself would like to go back and do a self guided tour next time now that we know the highlights.

We had such an incredible day, one that we will never forget. Our driver and guide, Mido, took great care of us all day long. He made sure we knew everything about the places we were driving through. The lunch was top notch, we bought their home made olive oil, wine, and limoncello, and the view was epic. I could go on and on, but I will keep repeating the words, fantastic, excellent, one of a kind, and over the top, etc. If you are travelling to Rome, book this tour.

What an amazing day trip!!! I recommend to anyone thinking about taking this trip. I was hesitant to book it since it was such a long day and alot of time in the car BUT i am so glad we went. Our tour guide Mido was the best! He went above and beyond. He made sure we got great pictures, made sure we were comfortable, told us alot of history, and just made the day such a wonderful experience. The drive to the coast was beyond breathtaking.. I was a little nervous at first since reading the reviews about people getting carsick but Mido drove like such a professional I was totally fine. Our van had 3 other people who were so nice- we all had such a nice time together. The tour of pompeii was so amazing too such a great experience. I really cant say enough good things about this tour. FIVE STARS for sure!!!

Our driver and guide Khan picked us up in a Mercedes Benz Vito. Sat up front for the view. It was a 3 hour drive to Positano on the Amalfi coast with a bathroom, coffee break halfway. You pass thru the cities of Napoli and Sorrento on the way and through some quite long tunnels before arriving at the Amalfi coast. The vistas on the road to Positano are beautiful with the Mediterranean on the right. The drive is not for the faint of heart. Positano is stunning in beauty and charm with delightful shops. Many selling there famous pottery and lemoncello. After leaving Positano it was about a 45 to 50 minute ride to our lunch stop. The restaurant was in a lovely gardens outdoors with the biggest bird of paradise I've ever seen. It was a delicious meal of a bufalo mozzarella and tomato salad, chewy Italian bread and al dente pasta with zucchini or tomatoes. Then on to Pompei and all its fascinating history from the plaster casts to the red light district. Our guide Gaetano is a 3rd generation Pompei guide who loved his job which you could tell by his passion.

We can't say enough good things about this tour! If you have more time, I recommend taking separate tours as each location has so much to offer but if you have limited days in Rome, this is the way to go.
The weather was completely uncooperative and rained most of the day but our guides made it special none the less. Salvatorre was our guide for Positano and Almafi and he was knowledgeable and super funny! We spent the entire day talking and laughing with him.

Marcello was our guide for Pompeii please note that Herculaneum is the more preserved site and should be visited if you prefer to see a city that is more intact as Pompeii really is more of a ruin.
The drive to Almafi is quite scary so having an experienced guide/ driver put us at ease a bit. We stopped at the restaurant Dal Patriaca for lunch and it was such a beautiful venue/garden. The food and wine were incredible. The staff was beyond welcoming and just such a pleasure. Pictures of the views are just breathtaking but we weren't able to see any bc of the rain. Overall we had a phenomenal experience and would highly recommend this tour!

I loved this tour! I had my heart set on seeing the Amalfi coast but heard that driving there yourself is not a good idea. The driving was crazy, so glad I did the tour instead, it was worth every penny. Khan was our guide and he was awesome! He navigated smoothly through the busy streets and hairpin turns all while sharing interesting info about the sites we passed. The place we stopped for lunch, Dal Patriarca, was fantastic. Our tour of Pompeii was great too, I so wish I could remember the name of our tour guide in Pompeii because he was excellent and made the tour both interesting and fun. It was a very long day but well worth it!

We took this tour from Rome and glad we did. It's a long day but Pompeii, Amalfi and Positano are must see places. Wish we could have stayed the night in Amalfi or Positano. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

We would like to highly recommend our tour guide, khan for his knowledge and historical information expressed to us on this tour. He was very adaptable due to logistical issues and showed a professional attitude. We were very pleased that we got to see and visit all these sites.
