Wonderful tour, beautiful scenery, and great guide! I'm so glad I found/booked this day trip! Our guide, Christina, was personable, informative, and attentive to everyone in attendance. She made sure we were all having a good time. The trip was well organized, and the island is beyond beautiful. It's a must if traveling to Italy!
Our guide Christina was outstanding! The group of people attending were also really great. This was the best part of my trip to Rome.
The only thing is the pasta on the boat was meh. My advice is to grab a freshly made sandwich when you first arrive in Ponza at one of the many little market stores on the main street overlooking the harbor. The wine on the boat was very tasty though!
I purchased the snorkel just in case but have to say, not needed at all, the place is just so beautiful above the water not many colorful fish from my experience and swim through the grotto - so lovely!
Perfect day, great guide and the most perfect day!
Absolutely best tour we went on. Our guide I believe her name was Kimberly, was organized and informative. The island is beautiful and the waters were amazing. Just can't say enough about it. Hope we can go again someday
THIS IS A MUST!!!! If you are in Rome and looking to do something outside of the city, I HIGHLY recommend the Ponza Island tour. Kimberly was knowledgeable and fun and very helpful. The island itself is breathtakingly beautiful, so much so that the pics will never do it justice. The swims were wonderful and refreshing. We added the snorkeling gear option to the tour, which I thought was way overpriced, so I strongly suggest taking your own....and goggles alone are enough for what you'll use them for. The pasta lunch was yummy. This is an all day trip so I would definitely encourage you to take your own snacks or stop in and buy some fruit at the docks because lunch will not be enough. Again, wonderful tour with an awesome host!!
The Highlight of our 2-week vacation in Ireland and Italy which included 5 other tours through Viator. A full day led by our fantastic guide Kimberly. Definitely off the beaten track for typical American tourists- a nice change from crowded city and tourist places. Beautiful island, efficient and comfortable transportation and the time spent on the boat going around the island complete with 5 swimming excursions, grottos, and lunch served by the captain was perfecto! Worth it! If you're debating between Amalfi/Capri and this, choose Ponza!
If you like snorkeling in crystal clear waters, if you like off the beaten path destinations, and if you want bragging rights to the most amazing and unique experience in Italy, this is THE excursion for you. I did this Ponza trip on the very last day of my 20-day European tour and it was the best day of my entire trip because this place is truly heaven on earth. Our host, Kimberly, who studied in New York, was absolutely wonderful. Take a break from the overcrowded streets of Rome or Florence and have a chill time cruising around this marvelous little island.
Beautiful and relaxing. Family had a great time. This trip is worth every penny. Our host was friendly and made sure this was an enjoyable experience for everyone in the group. Thanks a million Kimberly!!
What am amazing trip. It was well worth the full day. Our guide Kimberly was awesome. She had plenty of insight on the locale, culture, and history. Her passion and love for the area was evident. We had a wonderful time swimming and exploring the island. We would love to do this again in the future
Worth every penny! Our guide, Kimberly, was excellent. She has a fantastic knowledge of the island and it and #39;s history and was extremely attentive and made sure everyone was comfortable. The island itself is absolutely breathtaking and the swimming is amazing. We would do it again in a heartbeat!
Best Tour next to Coloessum!!!! Ranked 2nd out of 6 tours done

Pompeii and Vesuvius
Vatican and St Peters Square and Sistein Chapel
It was lovely to go somewhere not all tourists in Italy went. This island along with the clear blue sea was beautiful. Our tour guide Kimberly was very interesting to talk to about the island itself along with other parts of Italy. When visiting Italy this trip is a must for a relaxing day and swimming with beautiful sights.
I am a very well traveled person, mostly for work I dont normally write reviews little lazy here.. but this one deserves it
If you are tired of the buzz of the city, making long lines and feeling a total turist at all times then you need to make yourself a favor and book this trip..
Although it is an early rise since you meet at 6:30AM it is totally worth it!!
Our van was on time and in very good conditions, Kimberly was our guide and she made a wonderful Italian soundtrack to listen while the drive
Everything was very well explained, just the right amount of information, also respecting your time to relax!
Once at the island everything succeeded my expectations, the boat was small and rudimentary but charming, it is shared with other individuals but that is part of the beauty as mostly are Italians.. so it makes it a completely Italian experience..
The boat crew was extremely attentive and lunch prepared by the camptain was simple, yet delicious! I felt it was made with a unusual ingredient love!
The scenery is incredible! Lots of sunshine and time to swim and explore..
Do bring sunblock and a towel.. alos a change of clothes was confortable for the return..
one of the girls was touched by a jellyfish nothing mayor BUT Kimberly had medicine for it so right away she felt betteras you can see.. we all felt protected
Thank you so much girls! Incredible job!! I honestly suggest not leaving Rome without doing this trip as you will never forget the amazing experience! Wilfredo from NYC
As we set out, our guide Kimberly claimed that it would be the best day of our vacation. I thought that was a bold prediction, but she totally delivered. Ponza is a gorgeous little volcanic island. It's surrounded by the bluest water you can imagine, that's so clear you can easily see 4-5 meters down. The boat stopped in several coves for swimming and there was even a spot where we could swim straight through one of the grottos and the boat picked us up on the other side. Our guide Kim was super energetic and helpful. She is expert in the history, art, culture, and even geology of the area, and she highlighted all the points of interest and gave lots of helpful tips. The captain even cooked us a delicious pasta lunch on the boat. We had only one problem during the day -- our shuttle back to Rome broke down on the way to pick us up. The result was that we got a bonus half-hour at the port. Kim took us to a great little cafe and treated us all to gelotti while the company promptly got a replacement bus out to us. Anybody can look good when everything goes as planned -- it's when trouble occurs that the good outfits distinguish themselves from the pack. Kim and the tour company proved themselves to be top-notch in every way. We can't recommend this tour highly enough... GO! You will be glad you did.
This trip was great! We were a little concerned about the length because we were bringing our 7 and 5 year old but they had a blast. Our guide Kimberly was awesome. She spoke fluent English and Italian and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time. She pointed out a few sites along the drive and translated much of what the boat captain was saying in Italian. If you have a chance to request herdo so! The bus to the coast was a little lengthy but take the time to rest both there and back and time passes quickly.
The trip meeting place in central Rome made it ideal and worry free. All we had to do was show up and all arrangements were taken care of for us. We looked into trips to Capri and Amalfi Coast but it turns out those are really crowded because they are more well known. Ponza is less well known but just as beautiful and offers a more intimate experience. Instead of quick stops at the grottos in Capri, we had 4-5 extended snorkeling stops where we swam in and through a few grottos. Definitely buy or rent snorkel equipment to maximize the value of the trip.
Lunch served on the boat was better than expected. You have a little bit of time to shop in Ponza but nothing too long. Not sure if all the Ponza boats travel in the same direction, but if you get a chance to choose your seats make sure to sit on the right hand side starboard because thats the side with the best views. Everyone on the other side had to look over us.
Well worth the money and a great way to break up time in Rome in between museums, churches, and the ruins. Highly recommended!
Great trip! Easy to find start location, well planned out day, and wonderful views at a great price!
Really long day, but absolutely worth every second! The day was just sensational! Got to jump off the boat and go swimming. We were a small group on another tour groups boat but we had our own guide ( she was terrific). Highly recommend this tour- highlight of our trip!!
This tour was absolutely amazing..what a way to discover a new place! Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable about the area and its rich history, she was very sweet and wonderful to spend the day with. The lunch was very good and snorkeling experience was one of a kind...I snorkeled in a grotto! This tour is a must!!!!
Eco Art was great!! It was fantastic tour and the most beautiful island. Recommend hightly!
Better than staying another day in Rome. You get to go to a non-English speaking tourist destination. You get to swim in beautiful waters and see cliffs you will not see again. You get to hang out with other English-speaking tourists. The views are better than the old stuff you will see in Rome. Swimming in the sea that is so clear is wonderful. You have to get the snorkel or swimming is boring! It is cheap. Do it!
Transportation is a downsize. It is an early day with a long bus ride, followed by a cramped ferry ride. When you finish, you repeat!
Food is also a downsize. The lunch on the boat is pasta with red sauce and tuna or pasta with olive oil. And the plain with olive oil was better!

Trip was great, scenery beautiful Tour guide, Lisa, very friendly but didn't give us info on what the day would be like before we started, then a very quiet 2 hour drive with no commentary about the areas we were driving through. Didn't explain things, then on the boat, which is great, the captain would point out things in Italian but Lisa wouldn't say what he said that might have been interesting. She was very nice and
answered questions if asked, but in our opinion needs to talk more about what we were seeing, etc.
I would highly recommend the tour and hope the guides work to improve their information sharing with the
folks on the tour.
