This 4-hour tour takes you out of the tourist-crammed historical center and into the local-loving Prati neighborhood to meet some real Romans and eat the food that they eat.
Simply put - do not miss this tour! Our first night in Rome was perfection with this tour. Jess was wonderful at educating and entertaining us as we learned about the food of Italy. This was super at helping us for the rest of our trip with how we ordered and what we ate. The evening included cheeses, pizza, meats, pasta, gellato, wine and lots of laughter! Our group of twelve was perfect in size. So fun! So tasty!
Great tour around a residential area near the Vatican. Enough food for dinner spread over 5 places.
My husband and I did this tour our first evening in Rome, and it was tremendous! Raluca, our guide, was absolutely delightful, super informative and very knowledgeable about what we were tasting, in a very relaxed atmosphere. The walking part was very easy and not the least bit strenuous. The food samples were terrific and great to have a taste of the food that makes the region famous - all accompanied with wine. The appetizers were enough for a taste, the pizza was heavenly, the home-made pasta super good, and the gelato was amazing. Highly recommended and could not have imagined a better way to spend the evening.
My favorite tour, you could tell the guide loved food and her job.
Highlight of our ROME trip. MUST DO!!!! We were lucky to have Laluca as our food guide. She is charming, funny, informative and the food was all out of this world!!!! Perfect in every single way!!!! I repeated, MUST GO!!!!! try to engage Laluca if you can!
Jess is the best. Highly recommended.
This was a tour we did on our first night in Rome. Best thing we could have done. The guideJess was awesome, she knows her stuff and really seems to enjoy what she does. There is no shortage of food and the time spent at each place was perfect. I did this tour with my 11 year old daughter and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Highly recommend.

What is not to love - there's wine, food and walking around in the cool evening!! We met our tour guide at the Cipro metro station - actually we took a taxi there. There were eight in our group - small and comfortable. We were lucky to get a really good group so it made
conversations easy and interesting. We walked to two different local shops to try various combinations of appetizers- antipastos - cured meats and cheeses with wine parings. Then it was time to get serious about the food. We next went to a pizzeria. The pizza chef is world famous and has been on cooking shows in Europe and the States. There were numerous pizzas with various, unusual, creative toppings. We each chose two pizzas then the group all shared the different toppings. They put the pizza slices in the oven for a few minutes so the crust and edges were so crispy and good. Then we walked to a family restaurant for dinner. We were all already pleasantly full of good cheeses, meats and pizza! We were treated to gnocchi and ravioli- all handmade by the chef who came to our table to speak with us. This was followed by fresh hot fried calamari. And of course two types of wine. Then our guide asks if we are ready for dessert! Seriously? We were all so stuffed we would barely move. But when in Rome ....... So we went to the gelato shop! We each chose two flavors and savored away. . . Our tour guide was excellent. She came from Romania to go to college but discovered Italian food and knew she had found her calling. She was very knowledgeable and definitely loved Italian food. I learned so much about where foods are produced and why certain symbols and stamps are necessary on the food. It was very educational as well as a delicious way to eat my way through this quiet family district of Rome away from all the tourist noise and hustle. I so wish I could take this tour again- right now or tomorrow. Yummy. . . .
