Visit the Vatican without the crowds on a private early bird tour. With a private guide, enter the Vatican Museums before the complex opens to the general public, and enjoy an exclusive exploration of world-renowned art by Raphael, Da Vinci, Caravaggio and Michelangelo. See the Sistine Chapel, and enter St Peter’s Basilica directly from the museums, without waiting in the main line from St Peter’s Square.

As one of the most-visited museums in the world, the Vatican Museums are understandably crowded, so avoid the masses with a private morning tour before the public arrives. After pickup at your hotel, explore the empty Vatican Museums with your private guide, who tells you about the history of the artwork and can customize the tour to your interests.

Hear about the legends and mysteries behind some of the pieces on display, and learn about the Renaissance masters who created the artwork. You can decide if you want to see the iconic Sistine Chapel first or last—either way, it’s the highlight of any visit with its famous frescoes by Michelangelo. Other treasures inside the museum complex include sculptures, carvings and paintings; your guide will make sure you see the most important masterpieces and interesting rooms and galleries.

Visit the Belvedere Courtyard, Gallery of Tapestries and Gallery of Maps, and then head into St Peter’s Basilica to see more artwork, like Bernini’s Baldachino altar. Your tour ends in St Peter’s Square, home to an Egyptian obelisk around which Bernini designed the square.

Marco arrived early, we were the first in line, he provided a great classroom lecture while we waited on line. During the tour he knew everything.Marco's tour of the Vatican made our week long stay in Tuscany, and three days the highlight of the trip.

The best money spent!!nOur tour guide Gianluca was awesome! He was knowledgeable and informative. We missed the massive crowds and were able to take our time in the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peters Biscilica. Great overall!

We were greeted by Fabiana at our apartment and were instantly aware of her charm and knowledge. As we drove to the Vatican she pointed out interesting sites of the city. With having a “skip the line” tour, Fabiana was a natural of where to go and how to enjoy and appreciate the beauty and history of the Vatican and St. Peter’s. We certainly recommend this tour!

Gianluca was a terrific tour guide! The lines were not bad at all and it was great to go on the morning! He showed us all the highlights of the museum and had tremendous knowledge of all subjects! All in all a great day!

Gianluca was at our hotel to get us promptly at 7am. It makes so much sense to get to The Vatican early even if it opens at 8am because the crowd build up is unbelievable.... We were first in line at 715am. There is so much to see - the museum is impressive, the Sistine Chapel is magnificent as expected and Basilica is immense and beautiful. Gianluca provided so much history on our tour and made it informative in a fun way. Highly recommend.

We can't say enough about our wonderful tour guide Linda. See was absolutely fantastic and the best tour guide during our entire 11-day trip! She was knowledgeable, friendly, well-spoken, funny, clear, and patient with our large group of family. She answered all of our questions and taught us so much about the Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica and Italian history.

The tour itself was also great! Definitely worth the early bird timing as the Vatican can get packed as the day goes on. Completely worth it!

Guilanio was absolutely fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable and so well prepared. It was obvious that he enjoys what he is doing and clearly the information and history are his passion. He had visual aids and his iPad to show pictures up close of what we were going to see, to give detail and perspective. We were a family of 4—two 15 year olds, a 72 year old, and a 52 year old. He kept it interesting for all of us. He was able to answer any question we threw at him. He knew his way around the Vatican very well, knew the guards, staff, and other tour guides. He was able to help us navigate all of the halls, steps, and galleries with ease, often avoiding the crowds—especially important to us because of my husband’s mobility issues. He was “at our service” the entire morning—from greeting us at the hotel, communications with the taxi, return to the hotel, and then even sent me an email recommending some restaurants and cafes in Rome, with directions how to get there! The company worked well with me in advance by email to make sure my husband’s electric scooter would be able to go where we wanted to see. Over all just an excellent day for my family at the Vatican! Thank you!!

There is so much to see, it can be overwhelming. Our guide, Giuliano, was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to tailor the tour to highlight our areas of greatest interest. We learned so much more with him than had we gone on our own. Note: the ~4 hour tour time includes travel to and from the Vatican plus waiting time for early entry (a great advantage since the crowds grow quickly when general admission opens). Once inside, the pace was a bit quick and we ended 20 minutes ahead of schedule.

Our guide Giuliano was world class. Incredible passion and energy and made this trip a highlight of 10 days in Italy for three adults, a 9 year old and a 6 year old.

Great guide, Elisa. It was worth it to get the early tour.
Visitors should be advised to allow a few hours after the tour ends to see in more detail St. Peter's church.
