Climbing the Stairs to the Capitol, the Town Hall centre of Rome's first government, even now remains so. The Site is magical; the square with its buildings were restructured by Michelangelo in16C. Poised under a glass pavilion especially built, all is full of light and colour emanating from the Roman sky.
Half way through the Museum, your guide will offer a coffee on the terrace of its cafe' which opens on a magnificent vista of Rome towards St Peter. You will return by the Lapidarium from where you will see the Roman Forum, its arches, street and buildings, and will descend on to Piazza Venenzia to the Trajan Forum and its Column. An excellent tour guide, highly knowledgeable in history and archeology. The tour it was difficult because we wanted to see such many things- House of Livia, House of Augustus, Imperial Fori, Roman Forum. Houses were impressive because they try to recreate the ancient atmosphere. For us, the tour means rediscover the roots, the ancestors. But anyway this tour definitely worth.
Gianluca was FANTASTIC, such an ambassador for Rome. His knowledge and enthusiasm for for the art of ancient Rome was with out a doubt the highlight of this trip to Europe. We would gladly engage him for anything Rome.
