This was THE best tour i've ever been on. Having never been to Italy and a huge fan of Angels and Demons, I came across this tour with Viator. I read through the reviews and seeing such a positive rating, I decided to give it a try. WOW! It was over 100F that day and although our hotel was outside of the pickup zone, they sent a car to get us. They also drove us to three of the points of our tour to keep us from melting, which made it so much more enjoyable. I do not think we could have survived walking for 4 hours in that kind of heat. Our guide, Victoria, was not only knowledgable about the movie but extremely enthusiastic about sharing all of the secrets with us. Her ability to make it an interactive tour where we had to find the angels and identify the elements at each destination made it so much fun. It became a game of sorts and a who can come up with the answer first!. Her knowledge of Rome and the extra history bits she shared along the tour are pieces of knowledge we never would have gained doing it on our own. Absolutly LOVED this tour and would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to anyone coming to Rome. Thank you Victoria for an amazing experience I will never ever forget!
My daughter and I went on this tour. We were met by our guide, Angelica and a driver at our hotel. They took us to the Pantheon and we then began our tour. It was amazing. There was a good bit of walking, but the time went by so fast as we attempted to find the clues. Along the way we learned many things about Rome that we would not have otherwise known. Our guide was friendly, courteous, energetic and fun. This was my third trip to Rome and I believe I learned more about Rome.....and of course, Angels and Demons..... than I had learned in my earlier trips.. A very educational, fun and pleasant day with a very informative tour guide. I was impressed and pleased. I recommend this tour!
One of the best tours we were on! The guide was amazing! She was so full of energy and since she studied the history in college, she was very knowledgeable!! Highly recommended!
Hotel pick-up was a little late due to unforeseeable circumstances. We met our group of 4 and our guide at a central location. Our guide, Vittoria, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. She gave us information of the sites inherent to the novel competently. Though a walking tour, we did use the van for longer distances. We truly enjoyed this tour. Vittoria asked us whether the angel seen in the picture was drawing his sword or placing it back in its sheath. Vittoria, if you're reading this, it can go either way. The angel's action can be interpreted as a reaction. The angel can defend or retreat depending on the nature of the circumstance that will arise.
Vittoria was just wonderful. She is bright and engaging and interesting. She not only knows her subjects well, but relates it all in detail to Angels and Demons. Having read the book twice and seen the movie, she made the perfect trifecta. Her English is wonderful, is open to all manner of questions and has a wide breadth of knowledge. You could not fail to enjoy both her and this adventure with Robert Langdon
I loved this tour! So interesting. Our guide, Vittoria, met us at our hotel and from there we walked part of the tour and then met our driver for one leg of the tour. Vittoria could not have been more considerate or informative. We took the tour on Sunday morning and had to alter the course a bit since there were masses being conducted at the churches along the tour. Still, we got to see most of what we hoped to see and learned much more about the history of Rome and the connections to the Angels and Demons than we expected to learn. Fascinating! As part of the tour, we visited St. Peter's Square where we were able to see Pope Francis and receive his blessing which he gives from his papal balcony at noon on Sundays. That was an added bonus to be sure which I greatly appreciated.
I see that others have commented on the long walks. It is true that we walked a long way but we loved that aspect of the tour since Vittoria told us about the neighborhoods and provided background information all along our walks. She offered to have the driver meet us and drive us between sites but we declined that offer and were rewarded by doing so since we got to see and learn so much more by walking.
We are fans of Dan Brown and this series of books, so this was a great way to see some of the sights of Rome in a unique way. To make it even better, our small group, was just my husband and myself! Our guide is very proud of the city and this tour. She is very knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions and added a few extras once she found out that this was our first visit to Rome.
This tour followed the book with a few changes to the order for efficiency sake and our guide reminded us about the story line in the book and the differences to the movie as we went along and she added some background perspective on belief about religion during the age that the various churches and points of interest were built and how that reflected in how each was decorated. We loved this perspective as it gave us a new way of looking at these points of interest.
This was wonderful. The guide was fun and knowledgable. The drivers were great
Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable and affable guide. Vittoria, our guide, ensured that we enjoyed the four hours that we spent walking/driving around Rome.
We had an excellent guide but Sunday is not a good day. Masses at several churches delayed out viewing the several sites. Get a tour leader that has a microphone and you earphones to hear guide. Very crowded Rome with gypsy pickpockets making site seers too defensive to truly appreciate tour. A great deal of walking on uneven pavement with alot of up and down. Be prepared to exercise.
This is a very interesting tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about history and the story. We had a great time, even though it was raining.
Our guide was fun and very informative. Because it was Sunday and services were going on we switched up the order which wasn't a problem and we drove to the Pantheon and first two churches. Then came the loooooonnnnnggg walk! Church to St. Peter's Square to Piazza Navona to Castel San Angelo. Our guide adjusted the pace to our needs but I estimate the walking portion was several miles in the hot afternoon sun. Driving between at least the last two stops would be so much better. Still a great tour that I highly recommend.
It was cool to see the sites we saw in the movie. My fiancé read the books so he really enjoyed this tour. we were picked up from our hotel but not dropped back off. Our tour was changed to the late afternoon so we had to figure out how to get back to our hotel from the Vatican at night.
Didn't include everything I was expecting, hugely confusing with trying to change my booked date right up until the last minute leaving me not knowing what was going on. Tour guide was good although don't think they actually worked for the company anymore. I finished wanting more.

I can't even begin to tell you how bad this tour was. Do not waste your time or money! First, I had this tour scheduled for Friday morning at 9:30 am. I was contacted on Wednesday afternoon to reschedule for Thursday morning, which was impossible since we did not arrive until Thursday at noon. Then on Thursday, I was contacted if we could reschedule for Saturday morning, which we could not. We had another tour already scheduled for Saturday morning. We only had a short time in Rome and I had specifically scheduled out each tour for maximum time. We were told that Friday was not possible, so therefore we were left with only Saturday afternoon for the tour, since we were leaving on Sunday. We felt like we didn't have a choice at that point and we had one person in a group that is a huge Dan Brown fan, so we wanted to do the tour.
We were picked up at 3 pm at our apartment on Saturday afternoon in a van. We had to go pick up another group of 4 and then they split us up into two vans, 4 in each. The van we were in had a terrible smoke odor. The first church we went to was holding a wedding and we could not enter, so we got back in the van, then the second church we went to was also holding a wedding and we could not enter the church. My husband at this point said are we on the 4 weddings and a funeral tour. HA! So for the first hour and a half, we were in a van in traffic going place to place that we could not even enter. When we finally went to St. Peter's square, my husband and I just left the tour. I was so over it. My aunt and uncle, who is a huge Dan Brown fan, continued on the tour, until it got to the point that they still had not seen everything scheduled for the tour by 6:30 pm and asked to be taken back to the apartment. It was a huge disappointment! I feel like if they had left our tour at 9:30 am on Friday morning like originally scheduled then we would not have run into all the weddings and could have possibly had a better tour.

Was expecting some walking but did not expect to walk over 10kms in 4 hours. Felt the term and #34;wear comfortable shoes and #34; should be more like and #34;only for the fit and #34;.
Our tour guide got lost several times adding significant walking.
