What You Can Expect

Rome Highlights Segway Tour with Optional Skip-the-Line Colosseum Ticket

See the best of historical Rome on a two-wheeled, personal Segway

Your Segway adventure starts as you meet your tour leader in central Rome, where you’ll receive an iPod with audio-visual summaries that provide information about each stop. After an orientation and practice session to get familiar with your electric 2-wheeled Segway, take off through Rome’s historical center.

Following your tour leader, pass by the Roman Forum, home to the ruins of Ancient Rome, and pause for a photo op of Piazza del Campidoglio, a square designed by Michelangelo in 1538. Cruise around the Campo de’ Fiori on your way to Piazza Navona, where you’ll stop to check out its fountain, designed by Italian sculptor Bernini in 1651, and admire the many street artists.

Next, glide over to the Pantheon, the stately temple that dates back to 126 AD, and if your tour leader tells you there’s time, you may go inside to look up at its dome. Continue to the Church of St Ignatius of Loyola (Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola), where, again, you may enter if time permits to see its ceiling fresco, and then make your way to the baroque Trevi Fountain to throw a coin in the water, ensuring your return to Rome, according to legend.

Finally, zoom over to the Spanish Steps at Piazza di Spagna before returning to your starting point, where your tour ends.

Please note: the order sights suggested in the description may be subject to change on the day of your tour.

We had the most fabulour time on the Segway tour. Our tour guides were such fun, and so patient with us. They made sure that we were comfortable with using the segways before setting off and were happy to talk about things over and above what we stopped to see. Our Guide Julia was really lovely and just loves her City and it shows. It was my birthday and when we arrived back at the office, they gave me a Happy Birthday page which I thought was so special. They also sang Happy Birthday to me. An experience I would absolutely recommend to anyone, whatever age they might be. I am 62!

Eddie is an excellent guide. He and #39;s a good Segway instructor as well. Eddie is very knowledgeable, professional warm-hearted and encouraging. My family thoroughly enjoyed this tour and only wished we had more time, since there is so much to see in Rome.
I would definitely recommend this tour!

We had such a great time on the Segways. Was afraid at first but only took a few minutes to get comfortable driving the segway. We are in our sixty's and I have to say, this was the most fun I have had in awhile. Bruno was our fearless leader and we saw so much of Rome in the time we were allotted. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is up for some fun sightseeing. My advice is to wear your most comfortable shoes as you are standing the whole time.

Great fun at great speed, whizzed round Rome at a fast pace with guides pointing out a few top landmarks - my only moan was that it took a long time for the guys to get the gear ready, which should have been done before everyone turned up.

The best excursion we booked during our four days in Rome. Highly recommend. This was a lot of fun and learning to ride the Segway was very easy.

This was a very fun and informative tour. From the people in the office to our tour guide, everyone was very friendly and spoke excellent English. They were also doing another tour at the same time in French. Our tour guide, Eddie, was very knowledgeable about Rome and its history. He was very patient and helpful in training first time users of the Segway. It really only takes a few minutes of practice to feel comfortable riding the Segway. The tour lasted a full three hours after the training and covered most of the major sites in central Rome. There were plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos and one stop for a snack and restroom break, so you don't have to worry about standing on the Segway nonstop. You couldn't possibly cover this much ground and see this many sites in three hours by walking. So in addition to being a lot of fun, you get to see a lot of Rome and learn a lot about its history.

They really made sure you knew how to ride the Segway before departing so that was a thoughtful gesture from the guides. We broke into two groups of around 8ppl. I think our guide name was Julia and she did a fantastic job! Only negative thing is I couldn't hear some of the stuff with traffic noises so the tour should provide an audio device.
