What You Can Expect

Rome Gourmet Wine and Dinner Experience in a Private Cellar by the Pantheon

Dinner in a Private Cellar

Your evening out in Rome starts at a location near the Pantheon, where you’ll meet your culinary guide and take a brief walk to a family-run restaurant for your memorable dinner experience in the Italian capital.

When you arrive, meet the owners of the restaurant, aficionados of traditional Italian wine and cuisine, and then head down to the restaurant’s private cellar. Take in the unique ambience of the cellar, where an old Roman structure was discovered at the floor level during renovation work in the area, and take part in the Italian pre-dinner custom of an aperitivo—a cocktail or glass of wine (in this case, you’ll receive a glass of prosecco) enjoyed with a selection of regional cheese and cured meat.

Then head back up to the elegant dining room, sitting down at your reserved table for your 3-course dinner of Roman-style dishes (see the Itinerary for a sample menu). Each course is paired with a fine regional wine selected by the chef and guide to enhance the flavors of both the food and vino.

At the end of your meal, your experience ends outside the Pantheon, which will be romantically illuminated in the moonlight.

Martina, our guide, was so awesome! We loved the private visit to the wine cellar with appetizers and prosecco! This was followed by an amazing dinner including dessert!and wine pairing. Each wine paired perfectly with the course Tonnarelli cacio de pepe, beef cheeks, and three different desserts that included tiramisu, a lemon pudding, and a fruit tart. WOW!

All we can say is wow. This was soooo much fun. Our hostess, Martina, was amazing. We loved learning about Italy wine and cuisine as well as proper toasts with our wine. Our restaurant was Casa Bleve which was magnifico!!!! We were able to tour their wine cellar with wonderful cheeses and meats before dinner along with delicious Prosecco! After our tour, we enjoyed a three course meal with new friends. Fantastic!!!! A must for everyone!

This is a fabulous way to have dinner in ROMA! It started when we met at the Piazza della Minerva and learned the history of the elephant Obelisk designed by Bernini. Casa Bleve with its private cellar is a very unique place full of history and wonderful food and wine. Our guide, Valeria was perfect in her knowledge of the cuisine and wine pairings. It was a treat to have an aperitif in the wine cellar and Valeria gave us the history of the Roman Wall. The evening was topped off when we met Tina the cook/owner and were able to thank her for the wonderful 3 course meal.

This was such a great experience. Our guide Martina was full of great information about the food and wine we were served. She kept us entertained with funny stories about herself and participated in the group conversation regardless of topic. The food and wine pairings were perfect.

This Dinner Experience was simply the BEST, it was Outstanding. We were a little worried about traveling during the off season, but were we ever wrong. Our guide was Alessandra, and she was the best guide we had on our trip. She was friendly, had a great personality and was very knowledgeable. I guess because it was the off season my wife and I were the only ones on the tour. The food and wine pairing were outstanding. The only thing about the hole night I did not like was reaching the end of the tour. I would Highly Recommend this to any one who loves great food, wine, and company.

This was a great way to start our visit in Rome. In the private cellar we were greeted with delicious wines and appetizers.
From there the main and second courses were even better and paired with excellent wines. Our guide was also well versed in the local cuisine and additional restaurants to enjoy during our stay.

My wife scheduled this tour for our first night in Rome at the beginning of our vacation in Italy, and it did not disappoint. Having never been to Italy, this was a great way to get acclimated and make sure we had a great dinner. And the dinner was really great. Delicious dishes paired with ample wine portions. Our tour was on a Friday, which seems to have less guests than the Saturday tour. This worked out in our favor, because they seem to provide the same amount of wine for every group we also had two people who bought this tour that did not show up- they missed out!. The food was so good, we went back on Saturday night for dinner to try some more menu items on our own. We made the mistake of not making reservations, however, and almost didn't get in. Make reservations for dinner in advance everywhere you go in Italy! No one gave us this advice and if we hadn't encountered this issue on our second night, we would have missed out on some trattorias during our trip. Even during the week, make reservations.

This was a fabulous event. Our host, Martina, was a wealth of knowledge about the area, food and wines. The pre-dinner trip to the wine cellar was a really neat experience too. Consider this tour if you are looking for a wonderful meal in Roma.
