What You Can Expect

Rome Segway Tour

See Ancient Rome by Segway!

Your Rome Segway tour starts near Piazza Venezia, where you’ll meet your guide and get comfortable on your 2-wheeled, self-balancing Segway during a brief practice session. When you’re ready, take off with your guide through Rome’s historical center. Allowing you to cover more ground than a walking tour while still being outside in the fresh air, a Segway tour is the ideal way to experience a city filled with so many must-see attractions.

Head toward Capitoline Hill to visit the archaeological ruins of the Roman Forum, home to landmarks like the Arch of Constantine and Trajan’s Column. Listen to a bit of history about Ancient Rome from your live as you glide around the edge of the forum, and then pass by Palentine Hill on your way to Circus Maximus, where chariot races were once held.

Continue to the Colosseum for a photo op of this legendary amphitheatre where gruesome gladiator battles once took place, which you’ll hear about via your live guide. Then weave your way over to the Church of Santa Maria to check out Bocca della Verità, the Mouth of Truth, a carved piece of marble made famous in the Audrey Hepburn movie Roman Holiday. Legend says, if you put your mouth into the sculpture and tell a lie, your hand will be bitten off.

End your tour by making your way back to the starting point, stopping for a photo op at a scenic vantage point along the way.

Absolutely fabulous - I didnt think I would be able to handle the segway but I did and found it easy - the tour guide was great and we saw a side of Rome we would never have seen on foot.

Bob was awesome! Great tour with 8 people - perfect amount of time with stops along the way. The entire family loved it - especially our teenager.

Wonderful way to see Rome. It gave a great overview of the city without all the walking, which allowed us to go back to our favorite spots for more detailed touring later.

I had never been on a Segway before, but heard its easy. It IS! This tour is the greatest way to see Rome. Our guide, Marcello, was just the best. He made it so much fun and interesting. I highly recommend this tour. Youll see the Coliseum, the Forum, Circus Maximus and a LOT more. We and Marcello took some great pics on this tour. It was such fun in this fascinating city.

So fun, even in the pouring rain. The company provided rain ponchos, helped us take shelter in a church when things got especially wet, our guide got a finger-wagging scolding when she attempted to stop a police motorcade so we could cross the street! Unforgettable in every way.

Having never been on a Segway, this tour was a little scary but it honestly did not take long to get comfortable riding the Segway, even for my non-adventurous wife and daughter! Seeing everything while on the Segway was amazing and it was so easy to get around and much quicker than walking. Our tour guide was phenomenal and this was the highlight of the tour. Another amazing part was that we were shown a virtual reality portion indicating what the Colosseum and Circus Maximus would have likely looked like at the time of ancient Rome - that pushed this tour over the top.

I've been lucky enough o be on many segway tours but this was one of my most enjoyable. Rome is packed full of history and Marco brought it alive though his animated stories with the added bonus of the use of VR to show you what the Colosseum and other locations looked like during ancient Rome.

Not even the lousy weather could put the dampeners on this trip.

Love this way to see Rome! As an older woman, I found that, after a brief tutorial, it was easy and soooooooooo much fun. We enjoyed the whole experience so much that we returned for a nighttime tour which was less crowded and an opportunity to see this amazing city from a different viewpoint. At the Spanish steps there was a vendor from Colorado, USA, selling roasted chestnuts. Interesting way to spend a Summer, huh? All of the guides were so pleasant and informative. Everyone should do this. Thanks, VIator.

The Rome Segway Tour was amazing! I had never been on a Segway before but the tour guide was very patient as she guided the group through the streets of Rome. She was very informative and entertaining. By the end of the tour the streets were lit up from the night lints. A beautiful site to see.
