What To Expect

Meet your guide in Campo de Fiori, one of Rome's famous market squares, and meet some of the food vendors at their market stalls. Sample some cheese, cured meat, wine, and seasonal fruit, among other items.

Next, head for the Jewish Ghetto and Theatre of Pompey to see remains of ancient Roman structures as well as Rome's synagogue. Taste some of Rome's best pizza, as well as suppli—a traditional street food made by frying a ball of rice with tomatoes and mozzarella at its center.

Continue to the area known as Torre di Largo Argentina, where Julius Caesar was assassinated. Visit a nearby family-run gelateria to eat some of the city's best gelato. Hear how gelato is made from the shop's owner.

Choose to take this tour either at lunch or dinner time, as it is an ideal way to do some sightseeing while having a light meal as you make your way through the city.

This is a great tour to do on one of your first days so that you get to know the area and get the reccommendations of all the great places to eat.
Come hungry, all of the sites we visited were very generous with their samples!

The guide was eager to share his knowledge and we learned a lot about the history of the areas we went, as well as enjoying the food. Went back to the Jewish ghetto for a fantastic dinner at Sheva

The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable , she started in Campo Di Fiori, which was great since that's where all the local vendors sell their produce. We walk around the town and stopped at a few historical sites as well as a few shops, that were waiting for our group. The first stop had different types of salami and wine (cheese for the vegetarians)and was located in that square. We then made several other stops and had small bites such as supli, pizza, artichoke at different shops. We ended the tour with Gelato at Gunther's which is very close to the Pantheon. It wasn't included in the tour, but we were able to visit once the tour was over. That was a bonus which we didn't expect.

Our guide gave us a great tour of a few street food eateries. We had foods that I had never experienced before. He also gave us a history of certain areas we visited. It was amazing! Everyone should do it!
Disappointing, not worth the money

Really disappointing food tour. Most of the time was spent wandering around a small part of Rome talking about history that had very little to do with food. What we ate was disappointing. We started off with a plate of cold meat and red wine which I could take or leave. Then we visited a take away pizza place, the food, both pizza and rice balls were nice but it would have been nice to choose one of the pizza slices that had some varied toppings instead of the cheap basic pizza. I thought we’d be visiting somewhere for pasta next but we spent 40 minutes wandering around and had a fried artichoke which wasn’t great. Then we went to the 4th and final place, which I assumed would be to sit down somewhere and eat some fresh Italian pasta. No it was a gelato kiosk, where we were only given a tiny scoop. That’s it. I felt disappointed and am surprised with so many positive reviews as I can’t recommend this tour. I’d spend the 40 euros if you’re considering booking this on a nice meal out.

What is unfortunate is when someone leaves a very harsh review like this one without reading the description of the tour. This is a street food tour, so no main courses (pasta) or seating are part of this experience. Regarding the price of the tour, on this experience that lasts 2.5 hours, the price of 45 euro is very low, considering you are not only paying for the food, but also the quality of our guides, and the cultural and historical information we share during this activity. In any case we are sorry you did not enjoy completely the experience. We wish you a lovely holidays!

We met our guide exactly where indicated and embarked on a delicious, historical tour as we tasted our way through old Rome. The guide was personable and funny. He not only shared the unique food of Rome, but also the historical background of the area. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends.

Ciao Lucas, we are sorry you did not enjoy to the fullest the experience. There are 5 food stops where you tasted different kinds of cured meat, pizza, supplì, artichokes and gelato. Drinks are not included on this tour (and it's written at the description) although we offer a sip of wine and beer. This is a street food tour where most of the guests leave very satisfied. Food was excellent. We did the dinner tour. The meeting point was easy to find. Loved walking the streets of Rome at night and experienced was enhanced with "less common" bits of Roman history.

Tour guide was amazing. The shops she took us to were also great except for the people in Jewish Ghetto. We were a a black group and the stares and aggressive behavior we encountered in that area was disappointing. Again the tour and guide was the best experience I encountered in Rome. Now for some real life experience after the tour. I’m only mentioning the below some others won’t be surprised. The guide also recommended two restaurants to us that refused to seat us…. the racism we encountered was horrendous. I advise any black people attempting to visit restaurants where the locals visit to be mindful that some of these places don’t like our kind. To travel to a country where you are bringing tourism dollars, especially to a community that could obviously use the money only to be denied access because of your race is just weird. How we were treated by some of these people let me know I will never travel to Rome again.

Arianna was awesome, very knowledgable about her city. She shared personal stories along the way that tied all the stops and the great food we enjoyed. She even added some historical facts about Rome that you wouldn't get on a much larger tour. It was basically a complete lunch made up of street food. We were completely stuffed by the end. It was the perfect ending to our trip!
