Our guide was fantastic, and really engaged with our children aged 8 and 12 on a very warm day over 35 degrees. Informative and fantastic! Even suggested best gelato bar after tour finished. Thank you.
Fantastic trip with Serena our guide. We were only with another family who were lovely also so we were very lucky. The children receive a pop up book and there are are nice surprises on the way to keep them interested and engaged. I would definitely reccommend this tour to all families!
We all loved this tour, Serena was a fantastic guide who taught us all a thing or two about Ancient Rome. The kids say this was their favourite part of Italy!
Serena was great with the kids. She was a wealth of information for the kids as well as the adults. She was very thoughtful and brought with her a Rome book with pictures of what ancient Rome would have looked like, very useful when describing what the environment would have looked like - to both children and adults. Well worth the expense.
Paula was informative and great with the kids. She made it fun for the whole family including my older parents.
We had Serena doing our tour she was very nice and caring but the children were very tired by the end of the tour. The hot weather did not help and we did not get the polaroid photo that was listed in the itinerary. When we were walking around the different sites it was sometimes quite hard to keep up with her when it was crowded.
This was a fun trip that our seven year old son enjoyed. It was a stinking hot day so it was difficult. Sylvia really engages the kids well. The time at each activity was good but beware that the toilet stop us not until almost at the end. You get some great insights and tips but it is probably best for slightly older kids but our seven year old really enjoyed it and liked that it was aimed at kids and not adults.
Went with 3 adults and 1 seven year old. While our tour guide was very nice and knowledgable about Ancient Rome the detail was way too much for the kids and even the adults were getting bored! We were two hours into the tour and still hadn't been able to see the Colosseum. It's hard to be standing right in it and the tour guide going into so much detail that many other tour groups were passing us up to actually SEE the sight. Finally pretty much everyone in our group said they wanted to see what they paid to see and basically at that time the group went their separate ways to see what they paid to see. Last time we took a Colosseum tour with Viator it was much better and I think was actually run by Viator. Please note that this your and many other are NOT Viator run tours. This tour is NOT as represented and I do NOT recommend it to anyone of any age.
The tour was very unorganized which caused it to run over 4.5 hours. There were no breaks, not for bathroom nor water. Most families left at 3 hours with only seeing the Colosseum. The material presented was babyish. My 9 year old was annoyed at the level. The most ridiculous thing was the guy dressed up as some kind of Topsy character. It made no sense. Perhaps that would entertain kids less than 6, but most people just rolled their eyes.
We would have gotten more out of the experience if we just walked the sites by ourselves.
This tour is only for very small children. The information was super basic and the games and booklet were not engaging. My 10 and 11 year old we and #39;re bored. For the patents accompanying there was no interesting information provided.
