Great to skip the line. Excellent tour guide. Beautiful artistry and history.
I am giving this a 5 star review because of our guide Frederico. He had such a vast knowledge of the Vatican and was able to tell us amazing stories and history details. We did an early tour and I recommend going early or late because it is so crowded on this tour. Even during a non peak season, it was super crowded. I don't think I would do this tour again as I was underwhelmed by parts of it. I would love to one day go back and experience a Mass but do not have a desire to cram myself into a room to see the frescas again. I am glad we did it as we had an amazing guide and he gave us a great deal of information we will remember, but it was just not worth fighting the crowds to do it again.
This was one of the most exceptional tours we have ever taken. It was a small group mix of several cultures which contributed much to the sites we saw. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. She could and did answer many questions. She also was very caring to help my husband enjoy the tour with a short-cut for him to avoid many stairs because he was experiencing a lot of hip and back pain. The length of the tour was just right, and being able to avoid LOOONG lines was a real blessing. We had the extra experience of being able to go through the Holy Door, open for the Year of Mercy. It is only opened by the Pope for special occasions approximately every 25 years. We would highly recommend the small group tours for the Vatican because otherwise being able to hear in the vastness and large crowds would be very difficult.
Great tour - small group, very informative and our guide was very knowledgable. Highly recommend!
Great tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Since it was December, we did not face the huge summer crowds. Guide met us on time and did not rush us at all. Good day!
This tour was incredible! We had a bit of confusion with the meeting location in the morning meeting point is at a bookstore, but the bookstore is a corner location so we were dropped off by our taxi at the store and din't realize our actual meeting location was just around the corner. We figured it out and met our wonderful guide Nadia to find we were the only participants of this tour, so we were rated to a very personalized experience. Nadia seems to have a wealth of knowledge about the history and significance of the art and sculpture we saw everywhere. We waited only about two to three minutes for her to purchase tickets, then were ushered right past all the larger tour groups, so we did indeed skip the line. This made for a much better experience overall, and allowed us to focus on what we wanted to see. Once in the museum, Nadia found a quiet corner to sit down with us and explain the art we would see in the Sistine Chapel, using an iPad to show examples and explain the significance of the art. since there is no talking allowed inside the Sistine Chapel itself, it was nice to be given advance information so we would grasp the significance of what we were seeing. Fascinating stories behind all this art. We finished with the chance to see the changing of the Swiss guard near the entrance to St Peter's Basilica.
The tour guide was superb making the tour unforgettable.
The tour was amazing. Our guide was fabulous. You can't go to the Vatican without a guide. There is just too much history details you won't know. Highly recommend.
Skip the Line is absolutely worth every cent. When we arrived there was a 4 hour wait for general admission.
Wonderful your with only 7 of us. Well worth the money to have things pointed out and explained as well as passing the huge line ups.
