This was a very well organised trip and we felt in safe hands throughout. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our tour guide was Manuela and she was fantastic. She was engaging, knowledgeable and her commentary was insightful and amusing. We 'skipped the queue' as advertised and had a comprehensive tour of some of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. We would recommend this to anyone who wishes to have a real taste of Vatican city but hasn't got a great deal of time. We didn't feel rushed and consider it to be good value for money.
Guido was very professional and full of knowledge.

Wonderful tour, perfect for families with kids! Though express, we had the opportunity to see all the main highlights of the museums: tapestries, maps etc. Our tour guide (forgot her name) was great, very informative and patient, helped my little daughter get juice at the cafe, was very considerate.
We booked this activity because it was listed as an Express Tour. Having been on a cruise and already taking some other tours in Rome, we had some guides who wanted to explain some things in extra detail that we didn't find terribly interesting. Rome has such a rich history and so much to see we really wanted a Vatican tour that would be informative and interesting without being buried in too much detail.
And then we took this tour with Guido. If there is a Noble prize for tour guides, Guido would have multiple prizes. He was a informative, fun, well-paced and, most importantly, differentiated what was important and what we could perhaps spend less time on.
With so much to see in the Vatican, Guido helped us to maximize every moment and make us feel like we saw everything.
Our tour ended up getting changed to a full Vatican Museums/Sistine Chapel/St. Peter's Basilica tour due to a change in the Pope's schedule and an unanticipated audience on Saturday morning. The museums were interesting, although I am not much of a museum person. The Sistine Chapel was very cool I wish in a way we had been able to do just the express tour, because I think the chapel may have been less crowded it was very crowded by the time we got there, which made it difficult to take it all in. St. peter's Basilica was awe-inspiring, and you could stay there as long as you wanted, to wander around and enjoy the beauty of it.
The next day was a holiday in Rome so the crowds in the Vatican were much worse than usual and even Skip the Line tickets had very long waits. Maya was fabulous. She figured out a way to get us inside so we could see the Sistine Chapel and the museum and get back to our ship. Mille grazie, Maya!
It was great to ensure we didn't have to wait in line for long. The guide Guido was very good and knowledgable and really listened to us to gauge what we needed more of or less of. Knowing what I know now, I would have booked earlier in the day but it seems the crowds are always there so just be sure to book skip-the-line tickets! We returned later in the afternoon to do the Cupola climb on our own, which was great too, and not too expensive for the ticket.
