This was a fantastic tour made so our tour guide Pia. Pia was an expert in the art and sculptures of the gallery and really brought it to life. I'll never forget this tour and all I learned about Bernini. Thanks Pia!
Loved the Borghese Gallery and Gardens walking tour. Claudia was our guide and she was very informative, and clearly loved what she was doing. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made this an amazing tour.
Fantastic tour of this amazing Gallery with an exceptional guide. Her passion for the impressive artworks on display was evident and she was also very humorous and kept everyone entertained.
Very knowledgeable guide. Nice walk through the Borghese Gardens after the gallery tour
A wonderful tour. Villa Borghese is a true wonder. The massive amount of art within its walls is astounding such that the time allotted is never enough to see it all. Just the same our tour guide showed us the highlights and provided detailed background information about all the art we spent time on.
I would absolutely recommend a guided tour through the Borghese. I went in knowing nothing and came out with so much information. My guide was great, very knowledgeable.
Absolutely the best Rome tour we attended. Our guide, a young Irish lady, was absolutely fantastic! The tour time, whether through a tour group or individually, is limited to 2 hours. This was where the guide was really helpful. She helped hit the critical art pieces in a somewhat limited time frame. If I had any complaint it would be the 2 hour window is not quite long enough, but that's a limitation of the gallery.
Coming fresh off our tour of Ostia, we made it to the Casa Del Cinema Cafe in the Villa Borghese Park. After fueling up we walked it off through the park to the Borghese Museum. As we did for all our tours, we paid a little extra to Skip-the-Line to make maximum use of the time available. And you need it for this Museum. Who can afford to spend precious time waiting in line? While this tour did a magnificent job of hitting the highlights, we realized we definitely need to repeat the visit. Once again, CityWonders provided a superior tour guide, Sara SARGAM. Her pace was perfect, and she made sure we saw and understood why the Museum was built and which artists were sponsored and what they produced. You marvel at everything...so glad Sara kept us on track. Without an awesome tour guide like Sara, you would quickly go into the deer-in-the-headlights look. You are speechless looking at the four statues by Bernini, commissioned specifically for the Gallery - the anguish of Apollo with Daphne, the concentration on the face of David about to launch the rock that brings down Goliath, the panic look on Proserpina's face as she is thrust up in her rapists arms, the Seminude statue of Napoleon's sister. You'd swear the mattress on which she is laying is soft, it's so artfully carved. And finally, you notice how the skin is depicted differently in his Aenas, Achises and Ascanius statue. Is the old man's skin really wrinkled like that? The Caravaggio paintings are also exquisite. This tour introduces you to the highlights, whets your appetite for more. Thanks again, CityWonders and Sara, for providing a top-notch experience.

The paintings! The sculptures! The gardens! Oh you simply must take this tour if you have any appreciation of talent and beauty. Our guide, Marco, was just wonderful and passionate. He had such appreciation for the artistry and the skill that it took to create each work of art, he really made us appreciate it. Art works that I had never heard of and certainly a gallery that I had never heard of, but is a must see for any visit to Rome. And the magnificent garden walk afterwards was really enjoyable.
And excellent tour was led by Mikaela. She was knowledgable and personable and obviously passionate about her subject of art. Such a great tour compared to what we had at the Vatican the day before.
Alessandra was an outstanding tour guide. She supplied context and interesting details on the most important pieces in the collection.
Fabulous, knowledgeable guide. It was probably a bit above my general level of art appreciation, but that meant that I learned loads and now have a far better appreciation of Bernini, Caravaggio and how to look for hidden messages and symbols within paintings. And I don't mean Dan Brown stuff!
We ended the tour by walking down through the gardens on a beautiful Saturday evening, with loads of locals and tourists alike enjoying the views, the sunset and the miles of paths to wander around or hire cycles and segways. Truly Rome at its best.
Very interesting Gallery. We really enjoy the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained how the Gallery came to be. She also provided information on the many works of art in great detail and there meanings. After pointing out the meanings, we could see the artwork in a completely different light. We would recommend this tour to everyone.
Jennifer was an excellent tour guide, with a wealth of knowledge about the museum, the history, paintings and sculptures. Really enhanced the visit and gave us amazing insights into the art and masterpieces! Beautiful museum and grounds. Lovely afternoon and we are so glad we went.
Fabulous tour the tour lead added great context and details that made the tour very engaging. Highly recommend
Well worth the money to skip the line and have a 1 hour 50 minute-ish guided tour of the Borghese Gallery. Our City Wonders guide, Alessandra, was entertaining and provided interesting details and history about the art and the gallery. I got much richer experience out of the visit than I would have by just wandering the gallery by myself or using the audio guide. Though you could walk the free gardens on your own, I appreciated having a guide leading me through the gardens, pointing out sights and sharing information. The walk ended at an amazing viewpoint I may have never bothered to find on my own. Our guide also thoughtfully took the time after to make sure everyone in the group had directions to their next destination.
The only disappointment with this tour was that the museum limits everyone to 2 hours. So, no knock on Viator, the provider, or the guide. Louisa was my guide and she did an AMAZING job. She distilled down the key pieces and made sure we had time with them. Her enthusiasm was obvious and infectious.
Didnt tour the Gardens. The tour of the gallery was great. Very knowledgeable and insightful!
Loved this Gallery! Also loved how the Borghese has figured out how to limit the number of people in the gallery at one time. The statues and paintings in this place are amazing and our wonderful tour guide made it a excellent experience!
