Our guide Alfredo was a great raconteur and knowledgable about every detail of one of the historically richest and most significant square miles in the world. With a good sense of humor, he patiently and skilfully answered every question we had about Roman history and ancient Roman culture, such as the education and lives of gladiators. We had plenty of time to admire the Colosseo, the Forum and all its temples and ruins and, very importantly, the cats living among the Forum ruins, with the added bonus of seeing where Caesar was murdered nearby. : The tour ended at Piazza Navona, one of the most beautiful piazzas in the world, where we learned about the details of Bernini's fountain that might have gone unnoticed without the great story behind it, told by Alfredo.

Just returned from a hectic weekend in Rome and one of the highlights was this fantastic walking tour of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome. Our guide Alfredo was excellent, so knowledgable and helpful and there was no question he couldn't answer. We started at the Colosseum, which was extremely busy, even for February, but Alfredo weaved us through effortlessly, stopping at the best vantage points and imparting his knowledge. We continued to the Forum which was simply breathtaking, then meandered down the hidden backstreets of Rome, visiting the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Obviously there were many other stops along the way, but these were some of the highlights. The tour was over 3 hours long, but time literally flew! We had a small group of only 8 which was just perfect. The tour finished at the Piazza Navona which was very central and allowed us to then go off and explore on our own. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough, so interesting and informative and lots of fun along the way. Thank you Alfredo for a fantastic experience!!

Loved this tour! We were able to see the Colosseum at different levels - except the lowest ones which is a different tour. The guide explained everything clearly. It's a walking tour so expect to walk. No alternative since all these sites are not accessible to cars. This tour even includes the Forum at the Palatine Hill.

He was very passionate about the history and ensured that everything he said was understood by all. I would definitly recommend doing this tour especially if it and #39;s your first time in Rome.

We had a spanish guide, I think her name was Larissa, PhD in Archaeology who gave us a perfect introduction in ancient times. In the free time at Colosseum I circled the entire second level. Then as we walked through the Palatine Hill she gave us not only informations about the architecture but also tips how to find water. Not reccomended for the disabled, it involves quite a lot of walking.
