This was an AMAZING tour. The Vatican was packed the day of our visit, but Alessandra made it seem as though we had it all to ourselves. She is incredibly well informed - A fabulous guide and anyone would be lucky to be on her tour.
This is a must - at times, our small group was the only one in an area. Our guide, Gigi, was fantastic. He made the tapestries, artwork, and rooms come back to life for us. There is so much to see, without such a knowledgeable guide, we would have been beyond overwhelmed by it all.
first tour in the morning before the July heat. Great tour guide. Very informative and allowed plenty of private time in the Sistine chapel
Our guide was very informative and enthusiastic. We would certainly recommend it to anyone including a family, like we have.
Highly recommend!! Best decision and money well spent. There were 7 of us and mom is 88 and requires a wheelchair for long walking or standing. Our Guide Filomena was wonderful, so knowledgable and very sweet. Filomena and Vatican staff were so helpful and accommodating with mom's needs. It truly was a wonderful experience. Very emotional and moving experience for us all.
Definitely very crowded but Fikomena expertly navigated us through the crowd. Not sure we would have had as good if an experience if we were with a larger tour group or attempted on our own.
This was a really rewarding experience. My family thoroughly enjoyed the wealth of knowledge and time spent in each area.MarvellousThe woman who took us on our tour was amazing. We tried to give her a tip but she had disappeared . We would like to meet her on our next trip to Rome. You don't have enough stars to rate this woman's performance.
Both this tour and the one of the Colosseum were great--I'm SO glad we chose the guided tour. The long lines for all the other people coming into the Vatican convinced me that I made the right decision. I also REALLY like the new technology--it's very helpful to have the receivers and ear buds so the guides are not all standing around shouting to be heard. Nice job, Viator!
Tour guide was really great. Native of Rome, she shared her pride in her country and its history.
First, a tour that skips the line is key, 2nd - the tour group should be MAX 8-10 people anything larger would get split up in crowds and hard to hear. Need to know name of tour group as they all convene on steps across from vatican early in the morning. We were with City wonders. They had our name on a list, 8-10 in group , started on time early is key, and tour guide was very knowledgeable. She basically didn't stop providing us info for 3 solid hours! At times it was hard to hear thru head sets, but that was due partly on the position of mic on her and volume of people! It was a great way to get overview of such a wonderful, historic, important landmark! Highly recommend!
Very good tour. Well organised. Theresa was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable and passionate about the tour and wanted to give us the best experience.
Great your, glad we did the early morning tour, no lines at all! Would definitely recommend this tour.
Loved this tour. The perfect length! Guide was so sweet, enthusiastic, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable!
Wow so much to look at the guide took you to the important items explained everything so well and was able to link all the items to facts about the history of the Vatican highly recommended
Barbara was our tour guide, a Rome native, fluent in English, who gracefully maneuvered our small group through the maze of heavy tourist traffic for a fine experience. Three hours was barely enough time to skim the cream off the top of a magnificent slice of history but she made an heroic effort and we were the better for it! Left us with a desire for more, but gave us a clear glimpse and some in-depth views of art, history, religious tradition... all tied into an intelligently well-paced morning. Molto bene, Barbara! Thanks City Wonders and Viator for providing some gems of tour guides.
This was a spectacular visit. The Vatican and Sistine Chapel are two must-do activities when in Rome, and this was the best way to see them. Our guide was quite friendly and knowledgeable. She used earbuds so everyone could hear her. My only complaint was that it was incredibly crowded, even with the early access, limited tour. I certainly would not have wanted to do this tour with even more people.
Vatican is amazing. Most certainly one of the best places to visit. Our tour guide Laura Garassini was very good, she knew the answers to every question asked during our tour. I strongly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit this gorgeous place full of peace, history and art.
Fabulous tour! Great to skip the lines in the summer heat! The guide was extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended!!
Our tour guide was helpful and informative. The tour was well-organized. Definitely book a skip-the-line tour and get a guide as I can't imagine doing this on your own. We saw highlights of the museums, beautiful frescoes in the former Popes' residences and in the Sistine chapel, and went on to view the enormous St. Peters Basilica. This is a great tour to see it all in 3 hours very efficiently but not feel rushed or that you missed out on parts of the Vatican. We are not Catholic but still had great appreciation for all that we saw and the enormity of the property. We came away feeling as though we really have a better understanding of the history and wonderful items in the Vatican. After the tour, we bought tickets on our own to go to the top of the dome a very hot experience.
