Was a wonderful experience! Would go again! Be prepared for some walking :
It was an awesome experience. A must do! Even in late October it was very crowded, so don't try and do it on your own. Plus the knowledge the guides provide is priceless.
I had requested I be picked up at my hotel and was picked up in a newer, cleaned, spacious van. From there we picked up a couple more in the tour group and went to the main office to get on our bus. It was a 20 min ride to Vatican City. My tour guide Max was very friendly, knowledgeable and fun!
Our guide, Francisco, was so knowledgable and gave a great tour. Highly recommend this tour for your first time.
This tour was absolutely Amazing. Our tour guide was very informed. He waited for the group to be together all the time. I went with my daughter on a stroller which I don't recommend The Vatican security did not let me in the chapel because of the stroller but our tour guide tried.

This was truly a great tour, and we had a terrific guide! The only negative was that there must have been at least a half-dozen other tour groups in the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel at the same time, and this made for slow walking and limited elbow room.
We loved our tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. This is the best way to tour the Vatican and have insight and hit the highlights because you could spend hours in there without good information about some of the history and interesting stories about what you are seeing. Well worth it!!
This is a must tour. Our tour guide was entertaining and kept the group together. Skipping the line is definitely the way to go,as we saw the queues lining up outside.Glad we didn't waste time in them. Our tour guide was very knowledgable on Italian history and Art, his presentation kept us all engaged. We had plenty of time to explore and ask questions.I didn't feel we were rushed.Something important to consider when doing any tours is less is more. Don't try to cram to many things in a short space of time.
Our guide Max was top notch. Knew his information about the museums and Sistine Chapel and presented in interesting manner. He also moved us thru the crowds very effectively.Definitely worth to have a guide rather then doing on your own.

You cannot see the Vatican without a tour guide--you'd be missing too much if you don't take advantage of the local guides who are eager to share their knowledge and cultural insights.

It was great full-day tour for visiting the most legendary Christian landmarks in Rome, with a good start by pickup us from our hotel directly to the Vatican, skipping very long lines for entrance tickets. The tour guides were excellent, professional, informative, and nice gentlemen, especially Max. Important recommendation is to stick close to the group to avoid being lost between the unlimited waves of crowds in the Vatican, loosing the focus and the good knowledge provided by the guide.
So nice that they picked us up from our hotel and took us to Vatican. We had a great guide, and it was an amazing experience. One of the husbands on our tour got lost and we never did find him. Stick close together!
If you're intending to visit the Vatican, a pre-booked tour is a must. Every penny spent on our tour was a penny well spent. Not only did we skip the line, but our visit was enhanced 100 by the knowledge of the experienced and entertaining guides. As advised, we called the tour operator a few days before the tour to confirm departure details and found the staff courteous and helpful.
We were fortunate that the tour operator's office was less than 15 minutes walk from our accommodation on the eastern side of Rome. From there we enjoyed a leisurely coach journey through Rome to the Vatican, enjoying the sights alongside the expert descriptions of our guide.
Once at the Vatican, we split into groups by language, and our superb guide Massimo led us first through the Vatican museums, then the Sistine Chapel, before entering St Peter's Basilica. Massimo's wealth of knowledge of the history of the Vatican, the Catholic religion and the innumerable artworks was very impressive, and his delivery was interesting and entertaining. The pace of the tour was leisurely and gave us ample time to appreciate the awe-inspiring treasures along the way.
We left the basilica in time to watch the changing of the Swiss Guards, before enjoying St Peter's square, and spending time in the shop.
Before returning to Rome, all visitors were asked where they wanted to disembark to enable them to continue with their individual itineraries for the rest of the day.
As this for many is a once-in-a-lifetime visit, we strongly recommend investing in a Skip the Line tour.... for those on a short city break it saves valuable time, and really helps you to get the very most out of the experience.
Thank you Viator!!
I am not a religious person and was primarily interested in the Sistine Chapel for the art work. However, I was totally amazed by the tour of the Museums and Basilica. Again the guide we had was very well informed and he was able to provide many details around the whole tour including sites of interest we passed on the way to and from the Vatican.
It was a very interesting tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and offered insights into a lot of the things we saw. Skipping the line was the best way to go, not having to wait forever in very long lines, because there were a LOT of people there. It was hard to believe the architecture and designs of the places we saw. I could not believe that people could build places like this thousands of years ago, without the benefit of modern tools and equipment. I was very impressed!!!
Very good tour. Skipped the lines - and our guide was very informative
Excellent tour. Guide was very imformative and I enjoyed this tour very much. Highly recommend this tour.
Great guide. Did the afternoon session where we had the blessing in the chapel and also saw the changing of he Swiss Guard.
The tour was very good and this was because our tour guide did such an outstanding job. You can see the Vatican but to really appreciate it and go to the right spots, the tour is the only way to do it.
