What You Can Expect

Small-Group Capri Day Trip from Rome by High-Speed Train

Enjoy your day trip to Capri from Rome

Your day trip to Capri starts with the high-speed train journey south from Rome to Naple. When you reach the Naples harbor, board a high-speed boat for the ride across the Tyrrhenian Sea to Capri.

Upon arrival on the island, meet your guide for your coach tour that takes you sightseeing through the main town of Capri and the hilltop village of Anacapri. This introductory tour is a great way to get oriented with the island by comfortable transportation and avoid waiting in lines for public transfers, plus, learn about the sights from your guide’s informative commentary. Enjoy scenic views, and stop at a limoncello shop for a tasting of this Italian liqueur and to learn how it’s made. Finally, visit the Carthusia perfumery, where the handmade perfumes are created with local, natural ingredients.

When your sightseeing tour ends, you have free time to enjoy the island independently. Perhaps go shopping in the boutiques, have lunch at a local restaurant with views of the sea or take a boat tour to the famous Blue Grotto (all food and activities during your free time are at your own expense). The cave’s famous blue hue comes from a combination of rays that enter from an underwater cavity combined with sunlight entering from the cave’s only entrance.

When your time on Capri ends, make the boat journey back to Naples, where your high-speed train awaits for the drive back to Rome.

City Wonders is a wonderful, very professional group! We did several tours with them during our week in Italy, and they never disappointed : Capri is absolutely gorgeous, and although we were a little disappointed the blue grotto was closed, the day was still packed with awesome food and fun things to do including shopping and limoncello

Our guide Melanie was the BEST!! She made the trip exciting and fun. She gave us some advice on how to manage Rome as a Roman not as a tourist and we followed her words of wisdom and had a wonderful visit to Capri and Rome!! Our guide on Capri, Georgio was equally as good. Would do this trip over again!

It was a very eventful day that was very well-organised. Our guide Andy was lively and knowledgeable and helpful. We were warned that the Blue Grotto was going to be a long 2-hour-wait at least, as we went on a big public holiday but we decided to go for it in the end. Luckily, it was a bearable one hour wait only. We had lunch at the restaurant they recommended, which gave very good deal lunch sets, but felt like it was a bit rushed, and the food could be better. But nothing to complain too much about. We had about 30 minutes after lunch to roam around for a bit before joining the group again for a walking tour in Anacapri. Nice lemoncello tasting and a good tour by Fabian. We wish we could stay longer but can't expect to much for a one day tour and this tour already packs in A LOT. All in all, a very good taster of Capri!

Kylie and Fabian were both fantastic guides. They were both warm, friendly and enthusiastic throughout the trip.
They both came across as extremely passionate about their job and shared a wealth of interesting and relevant information about Rome/Capri and their history. Thanks for a fabulous trip :-)

A wonderful but long! day trip experience. We had two fantastic guides that were not only knowledgable, but very thoughtful and kind they also remembered everyone's names!. Please note that there is a lot of walking on this tour - so if you have ouchy knees/hips, you may want to reconsider. Capri is one of the most beautiful sights in the world. We spent more time in Anacapri than we would have liked - as Capri appealed to us more - but, it was still interesting.

Our trip to Capri was amazing, Special cheers for Melanie for being a wonderful host. She gave us a lot of history and stories of legends that we didn't realize time pass by on our bus journey. Capri itself was too crowded in the summer month. But the views are simply breathtaking.

Went very well. Trip over was very crowded but uneventful. Our guide in Capri was great and knew the area well. Great adventure.
