Excellent trip to Pompeii and Sorrento. Our guide, Ches, was fantastic. The train ride and bus was very comfortable. The guide in Rome was right on time and was very helpful in getting our group to the train. Ches met us in Napoli and we quickly got on the air conditioned bus to Pompeii. The Pompeii guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting.

Sorrento was beautiful and we enjoyed a nice lunch and tour of the town.

Great day trip. I would highly recommend. Great tour of Pompei. Guides very knowledgeable and friendly. Sorrento lovely and an afternoon is plenty of time for lunch and to wander around. Small group is a must and worth the cost.

Our family of five with two teenagers and a 10 year old had a wonderful day on this trip. Our main guide, Fabian, was great. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us great history and insight about Naples, Sorrento and the whole area. Taking the train from Rome Termini to Naples was easy. Naples seemed very dirty and gritty so we were happy to not stick around there. We had a 20 min drive to Pompeii and a great two hour tour there by our guide, Alfredo. It's an amazing place with so much history. I had been worried we'd have issues with car sickness on our route from Naples/Pompeii to Sorrento, but we were fine. Our bus driver, Mikela, showed impressive driving skills on those small, winding, cliff-side roads. We stopped at a few scenic overlooks for pictures and lemon slush. We went to a lovely restaurant with amazing seaside views in Sorrento and then had a brief walking tour with Fabian. The Lemoncello tasting was interesting but we didn't buy anything. The cameo/jewelry designer demo was very cool. Stop in for a quick visit with him. It was also nice to have a little time to ourselves to explore the beautiful town of Sorrento. We were so happy to have done this tour.

Elena was a great guide. The tour was fantastic. A lot of walking on uneven roads and very hot. But it was fantastic

We had an absolutely wonderful time on this tour! Our tour guide Cesar was very engaging and made everything come to life. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about the sites. Pompeii was so incredible and Sorrento was absolutely beautiful! Cesar recommended a wonderful restaurant with incredible views. We enjoyed the limoncello tasting and Cesar directed us to a great leather factory store. The train was very quick and the tour bus was very large and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. This was the best way to get a chance to visit both Pompeii and Sorrento in one day from Rome.

We had a awesome time on this tour. Meeting at the train station was a breeze and being walked to the train left your mind at ease. As a group we walked off the train together to meet our guide for the day Cesare. Once we got to the Pompeii he split us up into small groups 14 and assigned us to our knowledgeable guide. Pompeii was all I had hoped and so much more. After the tour we met up with cesare to continue our tour to Sorento. He took us to some places with fantastic view and stopped for photo opportunities which was great. When we got into the actual town of Sorento we could take off on our own or go have lunch at a place he recommended then have time on our own. We choose to have lunch first to refuel. I believe that was the best food I had had on our entire vacation. The views were stunning. We then had about 1-1/2 hours on our own in town which was beautiful and had a lot of shopping to offer. Our guys was the best and I would highly recommend this tour. A lot of walking was required on uneven streets in Pompeii so I would caution you if you have small children or need strollers. Thanks for the special memories. Donna Payton

This was a great tour as it included high speed train travel which cut hours off a standard tour. This time saving allows you to see another area in the Pompeii region, being Sorrento. It was only an hour by train to Naples and then about a 40 minute drive to Pompeii. We had a local guide at Pompeii who was fantastic. We didn't see everything but we saw the most interesting and important parts. I don't recommend visiting Pompeii if you have even a hint of a problem with mobility. The roads are very uneven and you could easily fall and injure yourself so see it while you are still fit and healthy. After Pompeii it was a 2 hour trip to Sorrento which included a couple of photo stops on the way. We arrived at the restaurant about 2pm. We had a great view over the Bay of Naples and the restaurant prices were similar to other places I have dined at in Italy. We then had a mini walking tour of the area and some free time. The train was late so we arrived at Roma Termini about 7:20pm. This was an expensive tour but we managed to see a bit in one day. It was not really a small group as there were 18 people and a bus rather than a mini bus, was used.

This was a wonderful tour. The high speed train to Pompeii was quiet and comfortable. The tour of Pompeii was amazing. I was so impressed by the tour guide's knowledge. The ruins were busy but I never felt that the guide rushed us.
Only about a dozen of us continued the tour to Sorrento. The guide offered to make lunch reservations for anyone who wanted to eat lunch together at a cliffside restaurant. We all choose to do so. The view was spectacular. Sorrento is a beautiful town. We were taken to a shop specializing in Limoncello and other lemon products. When I asked about the lift to the beach below town and about the inlaid wood the guide had mentioned he cheerfully walked us to show us where to take the lift and to a store specializing in inlaid wood products. The personalized attention was much appreciated.
Definitely worth it!
