What You Can Expect

Small-Group Tour of Rome by Car with Italian Snack or Aperitivo

Take a picture by the famous Trevi Fountain!

After meeting your guide, hop into the comfortable air-conditioned automobile to commence this action-packed Rome tour of sightseeing and eating. As you ride along the streets of Rome, learn about the history of the city from the guide, as well as, intriguing historical tales about the places you visit during the tour.

Drive by the Colosseum, the erstwhile home to many bloody gladiator duels, and today one of the most popular spots in the city. See the Circus Maximus, which was the main venue for chariot races in ancient Rome. Then go to Piazza Navona, quite possibly one of the most beautiful public spaces on the planet. Once a race track like the Circus Maximus (note its oblong shape), the square is highlighted by the fountains designed by Baroque master, Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

After a short ride, hop out of the automobile to take in one of the most famous fountains in the world: the Trevi Fountain. Throw a coin in for good luck and perhaps pose for a picture in front of it and then stroll over to the nearby Pantheon. Perhaps the best preserved building in Rome from ancient times, the building was designed to wow visitors. And it still does today.

Cross the Tiber River to Trastevere, a charming neighborhood of narrow, crooked cobblestone lanes that is popular with locals and tourists alike. Linger in the main square and gawk at the church Santa Maria in Trastevere, and then make your way for Piazza Venezia, a busy roundabout but historically important as it is the crossroads between the Roman Forum, Capitoline Hill and the Centro Storico.

If all this sightseeing has built up a hunger, head to a local enoteca, or wine bar, to indulge in some finger foods and a glass of wine.

Fabulous tour, Francesca was the most enthusiastic travel guide. She was totally knowledge about all the sights and provided a very interesting history lesson too. We will be returning to Rome in June 2016 and certainly hope we can book with Francesca again.

This tour was absolutely wonderful and charming. One of the best parts of my entire trip to Italy. Our tour guide, Luca, was wonderful. He showed us around some of Rome's most beautiful sights including the Piazza Navona, Pantheon and even Saint Peter's Basilica after the dinner. Dinner was very good, Luca showed us how to properly serve wine as we tasted homemade meats and cheese platters. We also tried the Ravioli at the restaurant which was just as great as Luca said it would be. My mother and I had an excellent time on this small group tour (where there were only 4 of us)! :)

On arriving in Rome, we took this tour for a quick and comfortable experience. Our tour guide was Franchesca. She was friendly, knowledgable and witty.
Air con vehicle was very comfortable. Finished off the tour with a glass of wine and some nibbles.

Our guide Sergio was very informative and I loved that he took us into some of the "back alleys" to see some "off the beaten track" sites. He was also very considerate to one of my travelling companions that had a bad knee. My complaint/disappointment is that this tour was at 6:00pm and it wasn't dark yet, so we didn't really get to see Rome at night. It wasn't dark until the very end of the tour, and I picked this tour specifically to see Rome at night.
