Skipped all the lines, all the heat and got to see everything the Colosseum has to offer. Missed nothing. The line to get in was probably 2 hours long. Our guide had the connections to walk us right up and get in. This is the only way to go. Thank you.
The length of the tour was perfect. Plenty of time for pictures in between each stop. Our tour guide was amazing. She (can't remember her name) is an official archeologist and provided us with a lot of history and details. We also did the second part of the tour with our guide Nick. He has such passion for Roman history I found his tour very informative. Overall I recommend this tour.
This tour was a lot of fun and very informative. The tour guide for was an archeologist and knew amazing details. Getting into the underground and very top of the Colosseum was very cool as was skipping the insane line to get in. The Colosseum actually closed entry for a bit because it reached capacity while we were there. The tour for the forum was a great introduction and gave us all the info we needed to have fun exploring on our own the rest of the day. Having headphones so you could hear the tour guide amongst the mass of people was very nice. I also appreciated having some time to explore on my own at several points. This is a great way to see a very crowded area
I went into this tour really only interested in seeing the whole colosseum. The Forum tour ended up stealing the show! Our tour guide (I think his name was Paul) was absolutely amazing. He was entertaining, knowledgable, and gave everyone a chance to sit whenever possible which is crucial when you're on long vacations with lots of walking. The only reason I considered giving this a 4 is because of the Colosseum tour attached to it. Don't get me wrong, it was very cool and I loved the view from the belvedere. It just wasn't the most entertaining tour for being such an amazing location with so much history.
I've been to the Colosseum before many years ago....or at least I thought I did. This tour exceeded my expectations. Our guide was an archeologist (you can only go to the underground and upper level with a guide - the audio tour won't provide this neither will a larger group). We were a group of 20 and there is very limited amount of people they allow in each day underground. Book your tickets early!!!!! This tour starts on the arena floor where you're told of the history of the colosseum, followed by the underground and lastly the upper level where the views are breathtaking. It is a steep climbing so be prepared, but this is a tour you cannot miss. You won't regret it. Note: the guide for the colosseum is provided by them and highly knowledgeable. The Roman Forum is done by Touriks.
Our guide, Tom, met with us outside the exit and walked us from the colosseum to the Roman Forum which was another great experience. You saw people walking around aimlessly with their maps and just guessing what things were. Tom provided so much background and information I would have never known had I not taken this tour. He was also quite funny and kept us all engaged.
Visiting during Easter week, and knowing the crowds would be intense, we opted for the extended Colosseum and Roman Forums tour option. The friendly tour manager met our group at the designated spot, and then brought us through the lines into the Coliseum proper where we got our headsets and were met by our guide. The tour was interesting and covered areas that are not included in the general ticket. The views from the top of the Coliseum were wonderful! The Coliseum tour ended and left us with @30-40 mins on our own to look around before meeting our group again at a designated spot outside the exit to commence the Roman Forums tour. Our guide for the Roman Forums tour was named Nick, and he was outstanding! I wish he could have been our guide for all our tours! He was deeply informative, interesting, and had a sense of humor. He was also very easy to understand, and solicitous of the comfort of the tour members (ushering us into shadier spots, making sure a tired mother & child had a bench to sit on). An excellent tour, but a long one, lasting @ 3 hours. The Roman Forum ticket includes the Palatine hill, so it makes sense to explore, but you might be tired out at that point. Also, the Palatine really deserves a guide on its own.
What a well organised and brilliantly priced tour! Anyone going to colosseum this gives you access to locked areas as well as fun historical stories. Easy to find location of tour meeting point amongst busy tourist area
Shame the weather was raining but that didnt affect visit..meeting place easy to find tour guide was waiting..quick walk across road to go in meet with other people to begin tour
Guide was mind of information and encouraged questions..so time flew by before we met our next guide for Palatine hill..this lady brought Rome alive!! her passion and enthusiasm was amazing and had us all hooked..no one wanted to leave tour she was so passionate!!
So if you lucky enough to get the same lady as we did you will be transported back in time.
