Amazing tour!! Our guide Alfredo was witty and charming and so very knowledgeable. He made sure that everyone in our group, including an elderly solo traveler, had fun throughout the day, and he even gave us time to explore these ruins on our own. I would definitely recommend this tour!
It was the most amazing trip ! Well organized , led by the very very professional guide, his name is Josef , do not have his card. He is a middle age man native of Tivoli. He is very knowledgeable, great narrator with a very good sense of humor.
This tour was our best.
Thank you Josef !
If you are booking through the Viator, you can find him. It was on Oct.22,2017
This tour was lovely. We visited both the Villa Adriana as well as the Tivoli Gardens. Both sites were beautiful and unique. I am so glad I went the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful to me since I use a cane and there were both steps and walking. Lunch was on your own, but we had yummy lunch!
This was the best part of the trip to take pictures by far! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable having graduated in archeology in Rome and was unbelievably kind. He even gave the best recommendation for lunch between the two sites. It was about - si i recommend a different place if youre budget traveling.
But i highly recommend this tour if youre in Rome and would like a day out of the city or if you like really good pics.
If you have a few days in Rome and want to visit more UNESCO Heritage sites, I would recommend this tour. These places are situated at about 30-40 minutes drive from Rome and I think they're worth visiting. Both places were pretty empty on the date we went Dec 19 but one of our fellow travelers said he visited during summer time and it was way over-crowded. We felt that we have enough time at both sites and weren't rush at all. We also had lunch at a restaurant recommended by the tour guide and food was decent and price was reasonable.
We really enjoyed our tour to Tivoli, the fountains were breathtaking!
Fantastic tour. Alfredo was a brilliant guide. Knowledgeable, passionate and patient - well done. Hadrians Villa must be seen by all who come to Rome.
My wife and I very much enjoyed this tour. The featured sights are quite incredible and impressive. The tour was run in a very efficient manner. Our guide Lara was very informative, knowledgeable, interesting, charming and delightful.
What a perfect day! Hadrian's villa is massive and what has been excavated is mind boggling. Then, meandering around the Villa d'Este was absolutely fascinating.
We had Giuseppe as a tour guide and he was just about perfect. He was super informative, very friendly, and knowledgeable about a variety of subjects. We brought our 8 and 11 year old with us and it was completely appropriate for them. We went the week before Christmas and had Hadrian's Villa all to ourselves.
I would highly recommend this tour on any visit to Rome!
Great trip. Joesph was a great guide. Resident of Tivoli. Both sites are wonderful. Glad we went. Perfect day and small crowds.

A great day trip to visit two very different and unique unesco sites.....highly recommended.....lots of walking and stairs.
This tour was wonderful. Guiseppe our guide was charming, informative, enthusiastic and adapt at keeping everyone moving in the right direction at a productive but comfortable pace. The tour was well-organized and the bus was very comfortable. We'd highly recommend this tour and especially Guiseppe!
An unforgettable day. Don't miss going to Hadrian's Villa and the Villa d'Este
Both sites quite interesting. Hadrian's Villa rivals Pompei and Villa d'Este is one of a kind. Well worth seeing.
I booked for my wife and daughter. They couldnt stop talking about the day.
For us very tranquil day. We got to see something different. The guide brought the Villa to Life!!!
This tour is so good I did it twice on two different trips. Bring your walking shoes and the hill up to Hadrian's Villa is not for the faint of heart. My only complaint would be that we did not have enough time at the Villa d'Este which are absolutely beautiful. Lots of steps at the Villa d'Este and the elevator only takes you down one level so beware.
This is worth the effort. I wish they had spent more time at the Villa d'Este but you can't have everything. If you take the trip go to lunch on your own we ended up at the same place as where the guide ate so it was a home run. Terrain can be intimidating especially going up the hill to Hadrian's Villa so not for the faint of heart. Lots of steps at the Villa d'Este so you should bring your walking shoes. Meeting place was easy to find and drop off was right near a taxis stand so the in and out was easy.
This tour was fantastic! I never dreamed Villa d'Este would have such spectacular fountains! Our guide was great but some people had trouble keeping up with her as she walked very fast! Other than that, it was a great day!
Spectacular. Had been twice before to Villa d'Este but never to Hadrian's Villa, which I found to be something to never miss when in Rome. Loved it, much better than Pompeii and much larger. Lot of history here. Villa d'Este was the reason for my return to Rome. No words to describe this paradise. The fountains, and gardens are like if it was created as movie sets. This was a wonderful day and the weather cooperated. Though it was supposed to rain, it turned out beautiful. I'm very happy I returned.
We enjoyed our tour guide. He was so kind and really explained the area to us very clearly. I would for sure do another tour with him. Location, absolutely amazing!
This was really a wonderful experience, one of the best of my trip. Our guide Giuseppe was wonderful, good natured and knowledgeable, and each site, Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este, were made much more enjoyable because of him. In between the tours, you'll have a relaxing lunch at a restaurant in Tivoli, a lovely, picturesque town your time there will likely be a welcome relief from the fast-paced city of Rome, just a short bus ride away. As much as I love studying Ancient Rome, I was incredibly impressed by Villa d'Este, the marble in that opulent place having been harvested during its construction from Hadrian's Villa. The beauty of that Renaissance-era structure, with its approximately 500 fountains and its gardens styled on Versailles, is truly awe-inspiring. I really recommend this tour.
