The information prior to the tour was great. A bit of confusion on where to meet but the enthusiasm of our guide more than made up for it

This was perfect for us because we wanted to skip the line but tour the Vatican on our own. It was very smooth to meet our guide, who was holding a sign, in a small plaza across the street from the entrance. Indeed, the line we could see at the entrance was very very long. He took us inside promptly and we waited for him in a lobby while he obtained our tickets. Upon giving us our tickets he directed us to the ticket-taker and left us. We entered and opted out of the audio guide because we didn't want to double back to return the headsets but instead proceed through the Sistine Chapel into St. Peter's Basilica. The complex is huge with long distances to walk, so that should be considered when renting headsets. Instead of the headsets we relied on signage, the printed map, and Rick Steve's small guide to Rome, which paid for itself several times over on our Vatican visit. We advise you to read it very carefully, especially noting the tip about the shortcut from the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter's. There is so much to see at the Vatican--so many statues and paintings--that having a live guide explaining it all would have exhausted us. Viator offered a number of options for Vatican tours and we are very glad we chose this one. We were grateful to be able to be selective about what we saw. It was a wonderful experience.

The guide was on perfect time to meet us and we got into the Vatican quickly. He gave us tips of what to see and answer questions, then went into the museum where we could wander through at our own pace. It is a busy place but you don't have to rush round it take your time there is a lot to see. St Peters Bracilica is amazing and quite big, make sure you go down to the catacombs to see where some of the popes are laid to rest. A very interesting few hours.

very well organized. I took the self-guided and had the opportunity to spend time according to my schedule. I highly recommend booking in advance to avoid lines.

Everything was prompt and directions were accurate. Well worth the money to skip the queues to the Vatican Museums and the Basilica.

Skip the line ticket is the way to go, otherwise you will waste your day waiting to purchase your ticket to get inside the Vatican. The guide will get you inside quickly, purchasing the tickets there, and will give you a quick run down of what you're able to see and do. You don't want to miss seeing the Vatican as it is chock full of history and spectacular artwork.

I did exactly what it said on the tin. We were met outside the Vatican Museum and he escorted us through the group entrance so no waiting around. He then got the map and tickets and made sure we all knew where to go and the best route through the museums to ensure we saw what interested us. It saved the hassel of queuing and then finding our way around once inside the very large 'reception' area. He told us where to get an audio guide extra money if we wanted one.

This was perfect for us after doing a several group tours earlier in our Italy trip. We just wanted to explore the Vatican at our own pace without waiting on a larger group. The guy showed up on time, escorted us in, left us with a map and some good tips about what to explore. Highly recommend!

The queues for the Vatican museum are ever so long unless you get there really early. And there is no shelter from the sun. We didn't want a guided tour and were very happy with the audio tours, so meet and greet worked very well for us. It is worth the extra cost to skip the line. The guide was very efficient and we went through with no delays. He explained the route around the museum and recommended the bits not to be missed. Entry to St Peters via the back door of the Sistine Chapel is not guaranteed but at busy times the door is open and you can go straight through the door on the right at the back normally reserved for guided tours. Highly recommended.
