Vatican Night Tour with Dinner in the Pinecone Courtyard

Vatican by Night Tour with Dinner

Meet your guide near the entrance of the Vatican Museums and get escorted past the long lines of people waiting to buy tickets for the Vatican's special evening admission. Get into the museum before the crowds and head straight for the beautiful Pinecone Courtyard, where you'll enjoy a delicious buffet dinner with wine.

After your meal, join your guide and the rest of your group for a tour of the Vatican Museums. Learn about the courtyard where you've just had dinner. Walk through the Gallery of Maps and the Gallery of Tapestries. Admire the exquisite frescoes in the Raphael Rooms, including the famous 'The School of Athens' piece.

The final stop on the tour is the Sistine Chapel, with its enormous frescoes by Michelangelo. Your guide will tell you about the frescoes and the chapel itself before you enter, so when you go inside you can be respectfully quiet and soak in all the artistic and historic splendor.

First off, we raced to the location to meet our handsome tour guide, not having a clue where that location was since we are from the US and unfamiliar with the city of Rome and of course, Vatican City. We were greeted kindly and given headsets and wristbands. We entered the Vatican Museum where militia was present and had to go through a screening, such as at an airport. We then went to our dinner in the Pinecone Courtyard, which was basically appetizers and some wine, which was quite good. We observed more art during our tour of the museum than I have seen in my entire life, maybe not, as I have been to the Metropolitan in New York and many other great art museums. Anyway, it was definitely worth our time to go there, but extremely crowded with tourists. I did love the art though and glad we went!

Tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable on all aspects of the architecture, the art history, the sculptures and magnificent pictures we saw during the tour. There were about 25 in our group. Our guide had memorised our names and where we were from after the first 30 minutes. The setting for the buffet meal was great and the quality of the food and wine was surprisingly good. Dinner was at the beginning, followed by a tour lasting over 2 hours. Great value for money. Would recommend.

This was the best way to see the Vatican, you are in a small group with a knowledgeable guide. Entry is simple with very little queuing. There is a simple buffet meal in the courtyard under cover. After this meal the tour begins, finishing at the Sistine chapel, this journey takes about one and a half to two hours and is full of the most incredible collection of art and sculptures I have ever seen in one place. There is quite literally an art overload on the senses, finishing with the most famous ceiling in the world. You will be tired but the experience is a must. I was very impressed by our guides knowledge and her ability to keep the information interesting and informative without it feeling like a history lecture.

Excellent tour, our guide was awesome! The sites and sounds of the Vatican at sunset and night time are outstanding. The food was underwhelming when compared to the rest of Rome, but enjoyable nonetheless.

The best part of this tour was being in the Vatican Museums on a Friday night when they were quite a bit less crowded than they are at other times. This made the whole thing worth it. The dinner was certainly nice, and the Sistine Chapel was everything you would think it will be. The map gallery in the museum was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. Our guide was very helpful!!

Amazing tour ! Dinner in the courtyard is a lovely treat. The Vatican is not that busy at this later time and this makes for good pictures. We were there with two 6 year olds and they did the full tour and loved it ! Highly recommend!
