This tour was amazing. To be frank, our tour guide Diego with Vivicos International Tours was AMAZING! One of the most kind and extremely knowledgeable tour guides we have ever encountered. Diego's passion for this history was extremely evident. It was fun to see him light up as he was telling us stories after stories about this amazing history. He was extremely patient with our 3 children and my father-in-law who right before the tour needed a wheel chair. He not only adjusted the tour to accommodate our needs but did so with a smile. The tour in itself was amazing but I really do think he has everything to do with the story teller. Diego knew so much information and related historical facts in a way that was fun for the kids and was really informative for us the adults. It is a lengthy tour but absolutey worthwhile. I cant say that our money wasnt well spent. We enjoyed the entire experience and appreciate Diegos thoughtfulness in providing such a profound experience. At the end of the tour, when we went to visit St. Peter's Basilica, he was explaining the thin marble that lights up the dove when the sun shines though the stone. It was stunning but as he was explaining the story, his eyes teared up with emotion as our eyes did when we saw the light shining through which was a pretty neat moment. If you have the chance to reserve or request Diego with Vivicos International, he is fantastic, passionate, a great story teller and just a great guide. Thank you Diego for an amazing day at the Vatican!!
Fabulous tour that was well worth the price. Our tour guide tailored the tour to the 8 year olds interest and kept her very engaged. As a bonus, the adults in the group learned more than previous tours.
Our whole family enjoyed the tour my seven year old daughter said her favorite part of Rome was our tour guide.
Ariana was a wonderful tour guide--very warm and informative!
Tips for future travelers: For private tours, meet your guide right out front of the Vatican, not across the street by the cafe. The crowd control reps for the Vatican were very aggressive--and wrong--about where exactly we were supposed to meet our guide. We ended up starting late because they gave us wrong info.
There is so much to see and learn in Rome. As a first time experience for our kids 5 and 8 years old, we were positively surprised to see how Fabio, our archaeologist guide could keep their attention and introduce them into the history of the Vatican. An unforgettable experience for the whole family. Thanks and good luck, Fabio!
Manuela was kind, good natured, personable, patient with the kids and extremely knowledgable. She spoke volumes about every building, cornice, fountain and work of art we passed on our tour and she filled in that information with her extensive knowledge of Rome's history. It was like walking with a professor, one who happened to like children. We would book another tour with Viatour in a heartbeat.
Perfect family tour of the Vatican. Our tour guide Chiara was fantastic - great stories and humour to keep everyone engaged.
Maria Grazia was a wonderful guide, sharing a lot of history and the stories behind it. She was very friendly, cheerful and helpful with a lot of Italian spark which the kids enjoyed very much, willing to make us take advantage of every single detail of the visit. I highly recommend to take the morning tour so the 5 pm mass doesn't interfere with your visit. The center canopy at St. Peter's Basilica is closed during Mass for example. Adults will also make the most of the visit thanks to Grace. Don't miss it!!
Grace was an excellent guide. She kept both my 6 and 14 year old engaged actively. Considering its art they both enjoyed it. Highly recommend her.
This was an amazing experience. Our guide was professional, friendly, warm and engaged not only the children 3 boys 11yrs, 9yrs and 4 yrs old which is not an easy task she created an experience which all of us enjoyed. It was expensive but I would highly recommend spending the extra money. When traveling with kids and sight seeing with 3 boys it can be hard work but this was a great afternoon in Rome which we will always remember and the knowledge the children took from it was well worth it.
