A great tour, very long day though as about 4 hours each way on the train. Ample free time and assistance given.
Everything in this trip was amazing. Our tour guide is attentive and made our experience worthwhile. From the bus drive to the train station until we got to our gondola ride and vaporetto she was all the way patiently leading us. We had our time to get around especially to Saint Mark's Basilica. I highly recommend this trip to people who are visiting first time to Venice and wants to get around and enjoy the major sights all in a day.
Amazing trip... it was 3.5 hours on a high speed train.. the train has a cafe which was very accommodating.. the trip was prefer the tour guide was able to get us to Venice and explain every area to visit and places to eat.. I highly recommend this trip. The gondolas were separate but worth it
Rosella was our tour guide with Fabio and they were both amazing! Very easy to understand, informative and keen to make the Group a cohesive unit. We did a lot of activities as a group and were then given spare time to browse the shops- much appreciated. I would highly recommend this as the ride in the Gondola topped it all off nicely.
Great day, our tour guide was very nice... unfortunately being purchased as a independent tour.. we were unaware.. it was guided, and booked a walking tour.. could have saved.. should be more clear.
Tour was advertised as independent but there was a guide an activities such as a gondala ride were available. Train took 3 hours 45 minutes.
High speed train to Venice travelling at 150 mph takes about 3 hrs 45 mins .
Our guide I love Rome Rossella gave us the option to either go it alone or stick with her and book a shared gondola ride 60 Euros or private for 110 Euro . Visited a glass factory with a demonstration .
Wonderful day browsing the boutique and touristy shops in a unique city
Fantastic experience. And the guide was marvelous showing us all over Venice in one short day.
Amazing! We had a wonderful tour guide who was considerate of all the members of the groups needs. I enjoyed Venice. We are planning to visit Italy again. We loved every minute of our trip.
A fantastic way to visit Venice on a tight schedule! You will meet your tour leader in the street outside the Viator building for check in. Then you will wait for a bus to arrive to take you to the train station. While waiting you will be given earphones and I don't know what it is called small box to wear that lets you hear the leader. This person will give you your ticket and show you and around 50 of you newest friends to the train. Once on the train the leader will explain what you can do in Venice. You can absolutely see it on your own and just need to meet the leader at the appointed time. Or, you can stay with the leader and
on our visit do the following: the leader takes you to the ferry be careful pick pockets are everywhere and a woman in our group had her wallet stolen on the ferry which takes you to the main part of Venice. Once there you will walk to St. Mark's and see the church the leader waits outside, as you tour inside, then you have about half an hour on your own to eat, next up the leader shows you where to get the Gondola if you want to ride, you can go with other people or on your own this is an extra cost you pay to the Gondolier, then it is a short walk to the Murano glass factory for a very short tour. After that you walk back to the meeting spot, and finally back to the ferry. You do have time before you board the train to get food to take with you for the journey back. We got a pizza to go.
Please note that although the train is high speed, it does make local stops-at least ours did. The leader makes sure you get off the train back in Rome and can find a taxi or bus stops.
For us novices this was the perfect way to see Venice. So, when you read it is not a guided tour, they mean everything you see and do is not explained church or city history, but you are never left on your own unless you want to be. There is walking involved, but nothing to difficult. As for teens mine had no complaints and actually enjoyed themselves.
it was great. Efficient way to get to Venice and the three attractions that you could do with the group were a nice option. We chose to not go inside the cathedralkids were churched out. We did the gondola on our own because we wanted a little more time on our own. We went with the group to see the glass demo, very nice. My only rub was the guide waiting too long for people who did not respect the times to meet. It wasted about 45 minutes of the rest of the groups time.
The tour was great. I would have liked some more time there but that is what you get when trying to fit in in one day.
We were seriously blessed with our guide Antionella she was not only compassionate with all the tourist she translated everything into FOUR languages fluently! She was extremely knowledgable about the history of Venice as well as the architechual buildings. It was unforgettable! Must see!
The tour was well organized. We would have appreciated hearing more of the history of Venice
I have no words to express the hidden wonders of the world....You just have to be in it to feel it and enjoy every second of the day trip by the High-Speed Train and the Gondola experience with no cars to worry about.
What a lovers paradise.
Excellent trip, the guide was great from leaving Rome thru arrival and through Venice. Lots of free time too. Only negative was glass factory tour. Seemed too much like a promotion, big negative
