Hobbiton was absolutely beautiful. You are transported back to the sleepy village of the shire. A must for all fans of lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. However, you do not need to have read the books or seen the film to enjoy this lovely place.
The tour is about an hour through rolling hills and the bus plays a few short videos along the way. Our guide was Jordan and she was very easy to listen to. The tour is relaxed with lots of good photo ops. The gardens are truly amazing! After the tour we enjoyed a complimentary drink at the Green Dragon.
I give this 5 stars because it was so magnificent!! The ride over to Hobbiton was so amazingly beautiful and the movie set was breathtaking!! Everyone should experience this when visiting New Zealand for sure!
I absolutely loved this tour. Pickup from Rotorua was easy and the trip over went quickly with fun videos about Hobbiton and the films. Our driver was also telling us along the way sights we were seeing. The actual tour was so fun and a perfect day for it! My only negative was I wish I could have stayed longer!
We had beautiful weather and enjoyed this experience. The landscape is beautiful and I loved the gardens and flowers. The clothes on the clotheslines made me smile. Our guide was knowledgeable and we enjoyed learning information about the making of the movies.
