Traveler Tips

This is the best of the best in the this area.
It was ok, probably, not really necessary except to space out the diners.
A wonderful way to get in touch with the Mahori culture.

Maori cultural encounter
Russell_I, Dec 2022
Cultural experience was excellent. The demonstration of Maori dance and song was detailed. An intimate encounter with a smaller group compared to other experiences. The meal was excellent and they were very aware and catered for food intolerance well for our coeliac daughter.
Great introduction to Maori culture!
Adriana_S, Dec 2022
Felt very welcomed by this maori family to their village. Learnt a lot about native history and life. Food was plentiful and delicious.
This village not to be missed!
Tracy_D, Dec 2022
This was a very unique and excellent experience. If you are expecting a luau type event, it’s much better! The village family is so kind and from bus pick up to drop off, the experience was flawless. The family works hard to entertain, inform and delight. The food was delicious and we appreciated the cash pay bar to try a local cocktail. Highly recommend this village. Note that many villages offer this experience. We choose this village based on reviews and are so glad we did. Definitely a must do and appropriate for all ages!
Highly recommended.

A wonderful experience and glimpse into the lives of a Māori lifestyle of old. The team were all informative and committed to ensuring our enjoyment and education on their cultures and customs. The entertainment was great too. The food was excellent although I’m not sure it reflected Māori foods?!
Amazing experience!!!

Amazing experience!!!a must do when in new zeland and certainly the most wonderful experience of our trip! everything was organised perfectly, the show was amazing, the food was great and the vibes were magic!!!we learnt a lot about Māori culture and that was so interesting!the organiser are so kind and caring: I have to special thanks them because I booked for the day of my arrival but the flight was late and they immediately rearranged my booking for the next day to allow me not to miss the experience. I am travelling all around the world and I have done a lot of cultural experiences: this is the best in the world! Do it and you will enjoy the best experience ever!

An amazing show of dances, haka, songs, entertainment with games and a very delicious hangi. I enjoyed it so much.
Brief overview:...
Gary_D, Nov 2022
Brief overview: - Bus pickup/dropoff to and from our hotel in Rotorua. - Learned about Maori culture - the Maori were very engaging, interactive with the crowd, and funny - Ate a delicious three-course meal after - food was all great, we left stuffed. A few head's up: - This is a rain or shine event. It rained during our trip, but umbrellas are provided, and most of the experience is inside a small theater or dining hall. - Dining is (mostly) at large tables with the other guests. Highly recommend, especially for first-time visitors.
A fantastic Māori cultural experience!
Christina_B, Nov 2022
Wonderful experience to learn about the Māori culture and experience some of their activities. A fantastic dinner that seems endless also.
Worthwhile experience
DebandChris_D, Nov 2022
Clearly they are passionate about sharing their story and culture. Everyone was so engaged, and it was a surprisingly “professional” performance, in that the singing and stage presence were remarkable.
Beautiful, Exciting, Enchanting
Kristin_R, Oct 2022
Very immersive and participatory. Wonderful history of this tribe, and loved the energy. Beautiful dances, music, and excellent food. One of our favorite excursions and highly recommend.
Gorgeous lands / sacred performance / odd banquet hall dining
Amy_F, Oct 2022
Genuinely kind and talented family sharing their customs and culture with us. They were well prepared for the rainy weather (offering umbrellas and shelter whenever possible). I thought we would see the food being cooked in traditional ways - instead we were served plates in a dining hall that felt “fancy” but not connected to their culture at all (more like a generic banquet hall type set up). We dined with the other tourists - none of the Māori family members - so we wish that we could have shared the meal with them instead.
The Māori village to visit
Bev_C, Sep 2022
We enjoyed the visit to the village and learning about the Māori culture - it is a beautiful village and the family that shared their stories and demonstrated things for us obviously love sharing because it shows thru with their enthusiasm. The concert was really enjoyable loved it all. The feast was impressive it really was a feast!!! Thoroughly recommend folk to visit.
An awesome experience
LVARO_P, Aug 2022
It was a wonderful time. The family that runs it made us feel as -they said- their extended family. It was an amazing time!!!

Exploring the early days of Maori life.
THOMAS_P, Mar 2020
Our tour started out with a video in an "offsight" building. It was ok, probably, not really necessary except to space out the diners. Our bus driver to and from the actual dinner sight was HILARIOUS. He can get a job as a stand-up comic. Once we got to the beautiful land where the dinner was going to be held, we were treated to experiencing daily life in the early days of the Maori. It was fun and enlightening. The dancing was also very good. The dinner was good, though, not exceptional. It was a bit unclear as to when to leave, as no direction was given until pretty much everyone left the dining hall.

Absolute must
Shona_D, Mar 2020
Could not have been better. Have a mobility issue and was well cared for. The attendant, Aidan, was always ahead of me placing chair when needed. Very attentive. The bus driver, Mark, was hilarious and really livened up our experience. Can not recommend it highly enough!
