Ocho Rios combo tour to Green Grotto Caves and Dunn’s River Falls
Explore the limestone Green Grotto Caves, which served as a hiding place for rum during World War II
See natural cave features like stalagmites, stalactites and a subterranean lake
Go swimming in the pools formed by the terraced rocks of Dunn’s River Falls
Green Grotto Caves: Following pickup from your Ocho Rios hotel, travel along Jamaica's coast to the Green Grotto Caves. Upon arrival, note the green algae covering the walls, giving the cave its name. Walk past many different types of limestone rock formations, including an impressive number of stalagmites and stalactites. View a pristine, crystal-clear underground lake located deep within the cave. Durning your hour-long stop here, learn about the caves' interesting history as an escape route for the Jamaican people during the 17th century. Look for native cave life forms like bats and barnacles, and free to ask your guide any questions before climbing back into your vehicle and heading for Dunn's River Falls. Dunn's River Falls: Travel about 25 minutes back towards Ocho Rios to Dunn's River Falls, one of Jamaica's most famous natural wonders. The falls were also featured in both the James Bond movie Dr. No and Cocktail starring Tom Cruise. Relax on the waterfalls' adjacent sundeck, swim in the lagoon at the bottom or head for the nearby sandy beach. If you're feeling adventurous, follow your guide on the climb to the top of the 600-foot (180-meter) falls. Put on some non-slip water shoes (available for rental at the welcome center) and start up the terraced falls, the rocks naturally forming 'steps' for you to climb. Along the way, stop in one of the many pools to relax and cool off. Reach the top for panoramic views of the surrounding rainforest. After about an hour at Dunn's River Falls, return to your hotel in Ocho Rios for drop-off.

The Cave was very nice although we were expecting to see more live stelagmites and stelagtites. The Dunn’s River Falls was quite exciting and very beautiful. It was very crowded with tour groups so it took a bit to get all the way up the Falls. I lost my $200 Ray Ban sunglasses in the falls. 😬😡🤬. The current is quite strong. I would recommend the Falls on a weekend. Our guide told us that is when the locals go. Our guide and driver were both excellent!!
The transporting company was very nice and prompt. Would not recommend the Green Grotto Caves. Nice and clean but would recommend time spent on another activity. Dunn's River Falls was amazing. More physical than I thought, but definitely a must when visiting the Island.
This trip was amazing! I would highly recommend it to anyone! Our driver Johnson was awesome! He is a local and knew a lot about the area and therefore made the trip very informative. Dunn's falls was amazing! Climbing the falls was one of the coolest things I have ever done and the guides there were great - Quinn and Adrian!!! They were full of energy and made the climb a lot of fun. The Green Grotto caves was also interesting. I don't know if i would have done it unless it was part of this package- but it was cool.
Great tour and the tour company was accommodating, friendly and informative. The caves were cool and climbing Dunn’s River was incredible. I wish the tour guides at Dunn’s River would do smaller tours vs such a large group of about 30 but overall, great tour!
The Dunns river falls is an amazing experience, where you climb the falls about 960 feet through torrid rapid flowing currents, a must for the whole family. The green Grottos also had some historical significance more than its natural beauty as we have seen much bigger and better grottos in the world ! Although the guide Kenny was very informative and very friendly and jocular teaching us the jamaican dialect Patwa along the tour.
A good day, the Falls climb was harder than I thought it would be , but the guides are great and we really enjoyed it. We could have stayed at the falls a bit longer. It seemed a bit rushed to get back.
The caves were ok, they were dry as opposed to others that have been dripping water. The guide made the visit worthwhile.
The climb up the falls was good, the guides are excellent. However the DVD was a complete waste of money.
What an adventure! We had to wait about an hour for our driver to pick us up and that's why I didn't give it a full 5. Plus he had to pick up 2 other guest to take them to the airport. But we were dropped off first and they were very friendly. The grotto is gorgeous. If you like to hike...this is for you. The tour guides were very funny and informative. A different driver came to pick us up and take us to Dunn's Falls. Mr. Pine was very friendly, kind, and wonderful to talk to. My husband asked all kinds of questions and he answered them all. The Falls are gorgeous and amazing to climb! We enjoyed having our driver, instead of being packed in a bus with other tourists!!
The caves: A great option if you are looking to do something a little more off the beaten path. We arrived a bit past 9:00 and were the only group in the caves. Our guide, Chedd, was both funny and extremely informative. We learned a lot of interesting facts and history from him as we walked throughout the caves. The walk was very doable there was only one part where we had to descent about 60 steps and then walk back up. Be prepared to see bats and maybe some cave kitties but other than that, we did not encounter any cave creatures. The lagoon was definitely the highlight - I have never seen water that clear before! The whole walk took about an hour, although it went by fairly quick. The cave was beautiful!
Now onto the falls: I feel like you can't go to Jamaica and not see Dunn's river falls. It truly is spectacular! Make sure to bring water shoes and a waterproof camera case for the climb - that's really all you will need. The climb is exciting and beautiful and fun all wrapped up into one. Our guides were excellent at helping us navigate. Although they try to sell you a video, they even volunteered to take photos of guests with their own cameras, which was great because I definitely wanted pictures but did not want to buy the video of our 15-person group. I truly had a great time. However, there were some downsides to the whole experience. First, it is incredibly crowded. We spent at least a half hour just standing around and waiting before being able to climb. Try to find a date where there isn't a cruise ship in town. Also, I did not like that they made you hold hands although I made a deal with the couple behind me and we decided to not hold hands after all. I like having both my arms available for balance and for grabbing onto things, and the hand-holding seemed a bit unnecessary. Finally, the shops you have to pass on the way out of the park are insane in terms of the pressure they put on you to buy things. I've been to Mexico, the Bahamas, downtown Ocho Rios, etc. and so I've experienced this type of shopping before and have no issues saying no to people, but they took pushiness to another level. My husband innocently made the mistake of telling one of them our names and he carved them into little wooden figurines that we then were pressured into buying. Not a good way to end the whole experience.
We had to wait for our tour bus a long time after finishing up at Dunn's. When we got on, it was overcrowded with guests from another excursion. A minor annoyance, but felt as thought it was important to mention. This was the only time on an excursion we had issues with the travel.
