This was the best tour experience I've ever had, and my tour guide Clara was the best. Clara knew the local history very well, and the cultural background of Salvador. This was more like having a friend to pickup up and take you around the town of Salvador. If you are like me and like no to stand out like a sore thumb as a tourist, then this is the tour for you. This is also wonderful, because my tour guide Clara has such a great attitude and energy about Salvador, and is the best when making you feel welcomed and comfortable. Overall great experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The day after booking, I got a call from Ana to make the arrangements for the tour. On the day of the city tour, the pickup at my hotel was on time 10 minutes early even. Jorge was the driver and guide for the day and since my Portuguese isnt that good Ana came along to translate everything to English.

Throughout the day I got to see a lot of the most interesting sights and areas in the city, such as the Farol da Barra Lighthouse, São Francisco Church and Pelourinho, all the while learning about the colonization, how Candomblé was formed and many other interesting historical and cultural facts about Salvador and Bahia. Most of the time was spent on foot so there was plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy the view when going by car between places they would talk about any interesting sights we passed by. I also had plenty of options during the day of museums and other sights, and got recommendations based on what I was interested in. The whole tour went by without any stress and when stopping to eat I was asked if I wanted company or if I preferred to be alone. We ended the day at Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia, where I had a caipirinha and got to see the absolutely amazing sunset.

I can highly recommend this tour, there are so many things to see in the city and after the day I really felt more educated about the history of Salvador, Bahia and Brazil. Communication was great, from letting me know they had arrived at my hotel in the morning to translating everything the guide was talking about. For once I also got many vacation pictures of myself since Ana would take them for me at various points along the tour and send them to me the same evening. The service was amazing and the experience made me want to go back to Salvador soon!
