Absolutely loved our tour. The highlights for us were the slides and traveling across the crystal clear mirror water.
Fun tour with our 9 year old. Wish we could have taken pictures in the mine but had a fabulous time! Tour guides were very knowledgable and pleasant.
Fun 1/2 day tour away from Salzburg. The only thing is they combine 2 tours on the bus Salt Mines and Eagle's Nest that can cause confusion. The bus drops off the Eagle's Nest tour at their gathering point, and then continues on to Berchtesgarden for the Salt Mines Tour. This tour includes a mini train ride and 2 slides deep within the mountain - all kids would enjoy this part.
The salt mine itself was interesting and fun- they have obviously put o lot into their presentation. Driver and guide were funny and informative. Interesting to have some time in the little Bavarian town.
We love it. It was so much fun. The only issue we had was it was a little difficult to hear and understand the guide.
This was a lot of fun, especially the slides. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone except someone with a severe case of claustrophobia. The train ride into the mountain is very narrow with a short ceiling and goes on for several minutes. Finally, the gift shop has a wide variety of souvenirs available, including inexpensive ones.
It was a great adventure. My partner wanted to slide again. The light show on the lake was spectacular.
This was the perfect activity for traveling with kids. It was engaging and not too far of a bus trip from Salzburg. We had a great time! The Tour Guide was friendly and informative. My son enjoyed tasting rocks that taste like salt and the various laser light shows throughout the tour. Bring cash for ice cream after the tour!
This was a wonderful trip, organized well, and a lot of fun for children. It was also quite informative.
Great tour. Tour guide was amazing and had great stories. The actual Salt Mines was well worth the trip. We were concerned it might be more for kids but we had a blast and it was very interesting and cool. The little town you stop in is also very cute but you don't have a ton of time so make a decision on a place to have a drink or snack quick and enjoy.
We had a great tour guide. He was laid back, had a sense of humour, he was enthusiastic and was a genuine Austrian :-. Unfortunately we forgot his name but to identify him you could look for the blond haired guide that is also a pilot. The trip to the mines was interesting and then the mine itself was a good tour. All round great.
Terrific...!!! Carlos the guide knew the region in and out.. Beautiful landscape, lovely weather, gorgeous small towns loaded with history.. The salt mine tour is certainly the highlight.. A very nice use of technology.. A must do.. The drive itself is quite giving..
This is an excellent excursion, perfect for all ages. Everything from the protective overalls to the train ride in the narrow tunnels to the huge slides makes this a fun activity. Also, the program is a true educational experience. Our guide was informative and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Excellent host, not just informative but very entertaining! The salt mines were fascinating, and the scenic bus ride beautiful. I only wish there was maybe 30 minutes more to explore the town of Berchtesgaden. There is really only time to eat lunch or explore, but not both.
Wolfgang was a GREAT tour guide, very knowledgeable and hilarious. This tour should have hotel pick-up.
The salt-mine tour was amazing. The bus could have been a little larger as there was no leg room/space.

They should provide hotel pick-up. The bus could have been a little larger as there was no leg room.
This is a great tour. We had a great tour guide who provided us with a lot of great information during the drive. Once we got to the salt-mines we were walked right in and put in the front of the group for the tour. If you are doing the English speaking tour you will receive an audio guide that takes you through the mine. It's a great tour with a lot of information.
very informative and and a lot of fun.The tour guide was excellent and a gentleman.
Amazing is an understatement for this tour.. Carlos is a matchless guide.. Very well informed and he adds a very nice touch of humour to his commentary.. His comic timing is terrific.. The salt mine is another world.. I won't write much about it here since it takes away the element of surprise for those who're planning to visit it.. But it is a MUST VISIT place.. Due to limited time we didn't visit the Eagle's Nest.. But hopefully some other time we would.. Absolutely recommended..
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the mountains and the salt mines. The scenery was fantastic, with lots of snow. the salt mines interesting and fun and our guide Walter was great.
I thought this was a very interesting and fun tour for all ages! The tour has a lot of diversity to it and our salt mine guide was playful, adding to the fun!
very interesting to see how the salt is taken from the underground.
Honestly, I never would have chosen to go on this trip if it weren't for so many of my friends recommending it, and now I'm going to do the same! It may not seem hip, but the trip was amazing. The guide was knowledgeable and funny, the drive was beautiful and the salt mines are fascinating. You get to go down a slide that is steep but fun akin to Disneyland's Splash Mountain minus the cart and on a boat across water that is so undisturbed it looks like mercury. The stop in the cute town of Berchtesgaden is the icing on the cake - or the cream on the apple strudel. 5/5 would do again.
