We met the bus at the Mirabellplatz in town, a full size bus not a shuttle. Really knowledgeable guide who pointed out places of interest on the way and provided great information at the site. When we reached the base of the mountain we switched to other full size buses which made their winding way up the mountain. At the top we walked into the mountain where there was a large polished brass elevator, which the guide informed us could hold about 50 people, but because Hitler was claustrophobic he only allowed 3 or 4 others and the highly polished brass made the space seem bigger. Fortunately the weather was good and not cloudy. They close this tour in Oct or Nov depending on the weather. At the top the view was phenomenal. The building is stone on the outside with beautiful woodwork inside. There is a restaurant inside also. Outside there is a huge patio, places to sit and a small hut where you can get hot chocolate and souvenirs.
Well organized and on schedule, would recommend it to everyone. Walter as a guide was quite interesting and funny!
I really enjoyed this tour. The commentary provided was excellent ? Walter. The history of the building and use of the Eagles Nest made for an interesting tour.
One of the highlights of our trip. The view is absolutely amazing!
Our guide Carlos was not only informative the entire trip but also funny. Highly recommend this trip
This is a brilliant and very interesting tour. You are fabulously well looked after by tour guide Walter and driver Otto with every detail covered from historical facts to the comfort of your journey. I highly recommend this tour and would be delighted to go again
SO glad we booked this tour. Carlos, the tour guide, was entertaining and very knowledgeable. Breathtaking views. You won't be disappointed
Even if the weather unexpectedly became rainy, foggy, and cold, the tour was worth it's historical value. Our tour guide explained it's place in history and later showed the beauty of the quaint town of Berchtesgaden where we had lunch. The weather cleared up just before our coach descended the mountain and it afforded us the splendor of the view. Great tour especially for history buffs.
Tour was very well organised - big group on bus and multi-lingual. Guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable.
An awesome sightseeing opportunity - would have liked more time, however - it was not possible to do the photography AND have a relaxing drink at the top.

This was an amazing tour. Eagles Nest really is something to see. We were extremely lucky to have great weather and the views seemed endless. Our tour guide had a great sense of humour and kept us laughing and entertained during our bus journey. Do yourself a favour, if you have the opportunity to take this tour, don't hesitate. It is worth every cent. Memories to last a lifetime.
Our tour guide, Lisa, was very sweet and informative. It was very foggy on the mountain that morning. The fog lifted the last 15 minutes we were there. Berchtesgaden was charming.

A great half day tour, managed with military precision by our guide Walter.
The 'skip the line' component of this tour was very helpful, whisking us past queues for the bus and tickets.
Views are spectacular from the Eagles Nest and we were very fortunate to have clear skies and good visibility. There is enough time to stroll further up the mountain for other panoramic views.
Pleasant lunch stop on the way back in a small Bavarian town whose name I cannot now remember.
Really good trip with a well informed tour guide, Stunning views ans great hot chocolate at the top.

This tour was very interesting and informative. Only disappointment was that it poured with rain when we were having lunch so didn't get any photos of Berchtesgaden whichis a pretty town.
