If you have the chance to go to Hallstatt, go! The most magical, quaint town I have ever seen. We took a boat out on the lake for the most amazing views. MUST DO!

Such an amazing place! we loved it despite the bad weather we had that day. We went to the funicular and despite the weather it had an amazing landscape of all the place. I recommend it!

Hallstatt is a beautiful village nestled in the Austrian Alps. We were unlucky to have a cloudy day, so it was a great view of the Alps. Visiting Hallstatt was still a great experience.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The best part was the ride up the mountains and the ride back down via a different route. Stunning mountain and Alpine lake scenery on what turned out to be a picture perfect day. Even though not the high season early October the town of Halstatt itself was fairly crowded. We opted to take a boat ride on the lake which was fine and allowed for us to get a good look at this small village from the lake and the towering mountains surrounding it. Beautiful. Again, however, the rides up and down on the bus which was very comfortable, the photo stops on the way and our guide Daniel's commentary as we went along made the trip worthwhile. One might consider spending a night in the village and try out one or more of the many restaurants. A very good day. Daniel's recommendation as a possible spot for dinner back in Salzburg was spot on.

I enjoyed the trip out to Hallstatt. The tour only includes transportation to and from Hallstatt. On the way to Hallstatt the tour guide gave information about the towns we passed on the way to Hallstatt. Once we got there you can either do a boat tour or do the sky walk which overlooks the town.
