We went on the tour on our 2nd day in Salzburg so we already had an understanding of the history of Salzburg. The tour helped bring all this together and learn some new facts. The group was small enough that we could all hear without ear devices since none are provided on the tour. We have gone on other walking tours and always enjoy the amount of information they provide.
Two couples went on this two hour walking tour. Only ten people on our tour, so just the right size to get around the streets and still hear our guide. We saw the most important sites of this wonderful city and our guide’s anecdotes and interesting stories made such a world of difference. Did not feel hurried and Peter answered all our questions. Peter made the difference, a delightful Austrian gentleman.
We have done many tours on Viator. That being said I can tell you this is the worst tour we have booked. The group was to large, the guide would stop at areas to speak and each time it was in a very noisy area. Very dis organized during the walk. We were not able to hear 3/4 of what was being said. I would not recommened this tour. We were very disappointed and felt cheated.
The tour was short and sweet, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and did a very good job of sharing a lot of history and interesting facts. She was also very open to answering questions. Definitely worth the time and the money.
Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for me and my son. Our tour guide was a very nice man, but we couldn't hear him over the noise of the traffic and other people around us. I noticed other walking tour groups in Salzburg had ear pieces so they could hear the tour guide without having to be right on top of him/her. Regretfully, we lost sight of our group within a half hour into the tour when my son and I stopped to take a few quick photos by the 'keys' bridge. With so many people in the area, and no way of knowing which direction they were heading, we were not successful in locating them. It was like they vanished into thin air! We toured Old Salzburg on our own but I don't feel we got the full experience that a tour could have given us. Very disappointing.
Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Lots of very interesting historical facts about the origins of the city and its development. We would have liked the tour to finish where it began, to help orientate ourselves for the rest of our visit. All in all, good value for money and well worth doing.
