This tour is a must if you're going to visit Salzburg. The guides are fun and, besides learning all about the filming of the movie, you also get a great tour of the area.
I RATED AS A 10 BEING THE BEST. I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND THE GUIDE WAS WONDERFUL TOO. EVERYONE PLEASE GO AND ENJOY THIS SOUND OF MUSIC AND HISTORICAL WALKING TOUR.
Excellent tour! Start out with a good walking tour, Natasha was great! Then get on a bus and go up into the mountains...great tour for anyone who loves the movie! Outstanding views of the lakes and mountains!
Simply a fascinating way to visit and understand how an old city like Salzburg functioned in the past and today in one sweep via the guided tour. What is a visit to Salzburg without the Sound of Music Tour? Just like in the movie, you visit and experience the beautiful scenery, see for yourself the actual locations of the movie and hear from the tour guide what sorts of cinema trickery were used to combine all the scenes. A joyful ride at a comfy coach with tons of music and singing by tourists to the tune of Maria and the children plus von Trapp. It's worth everyone's time.
Ana was an outstanding guide on the Sound of Music tour. She yodeled while the rest of us participated in the bus sing-along. It was a gorgeous day in Salzburg and we got to see many of the sights from the movie as well as get to spend some time in Mondsee and see the church where Maria and the captain got married in the film. Also got lots of interesting stories from the movie. The drive and views are lovely, and my boyfriend who hasn't seen the movie enjoyed it as well.
Our tour guide was wonderful, fun and sang with us to songs from Movie. He was wonderful and I would highly recommend this tour.
Good to do on your first day as it helps you to find your feet. Lady tour guide was excellent and showed us all where was good to eat.
My girls and i took this 4 hour mainly a bus tour, while the guys found a beer garden to hang out in until we finished. The bus drove us out to the countryside where much of the filming of The Sound of Music took place. We learned many fun facts about the movie and the real life family who inspired the film. we even had an opportunity to taste our first champagne on the bus. The final stop was to the Mondsee cathedral where the wedding scene was filmed. It is a very small quaint town with a bit of shopping and the church. You are encouraged to step into one of the outside cafes for a coffee and apple strudel. Unfortunately you do not have time to do all these things on this stop, so pick one or two of them and you won't be disappointed. We missed out on the strudel :
This was a great tour. We had a full bus load, but it didn't matter that the group was large as our guide used a microphone to talk on the bus. We were taken to all the important sights and never felt rushed. The scenery along the way was beautiful. We finished with free time in the little town where Maria and the captain were married in the film! Our guide was informative and friendly. The length of the tour was just right, and we felt it was very good value for money.
