What You Can Expect

Samaná Mega Adventure: Horseback Riding, Swimming at El Limón Waterfall and Ziplining

Glide through the rainforest during a zipline adventure.

The itinerary order below applies to passengers from Las Terrenas; passengers from Las Galeras or Samaná will first zipline and then enjoy the horseback ride to El Limón Waterfall.

Following hotel pickup, travel to a small horseback riding ranch, called a parada, in the town of El Café. Listen to a safety briefing from your guides and strap on your helmet, then climb on to your trusty steed. Relax on your sturdy horse as it picks its way up steep, rocky paths towards El Limón Waterfall. Look for the tropical plants and animals along the way, including plenty of bird life, coffee, cocoa plants and fruit trees. Glance up to see the peaks of the Sierra de Samaná looming over the lush forest.

Arrive at a steep stone staircase and tie up your horse. Follow your guide down to the El Limón Waterfall, a spectacular 120-foot (37-meter) drop into a refreshing pool. Spend 2.5 hours here relaxing, swimming and watching the water crash onto the rocks. Feel free to explore the nearby areas of the mossy forest on foot before climbing back on your horse and heading back to the ranch. Back at the parada, enjoy an authentic Dominican lunch before departing for your ziplining adventure near Samaná city pier. Passengers from Las Galeras or Samaná will zipline first, then arrive at the parada for lunch and the horseback riding trek to El Limon Waterfall.)

At the zipline center, listen to safety briefing before donning your safety equipment and climbing up to the first platform. Under the watchful eye of your guides, clip on and zoom away. You'll have four hours here to explore the 20 platforms and 10 cables. Watch the rainforest whiz around you, listen for woodpeckers and nightingales and enjoy far-off views of Cayo Levantado.

At the end of your full day mega adventure, you'll return to your hotel for drop-off.
