Found this a great tour with a very accommodating, informative driver
Well worth the price. Only comment is that company needs to spend a little more on the maintenance of their trolley. All windows need to work! Also not user friendly for folks on crutches or who have a mobility issue. Steps are narrow and difficult to navigate. Otherwise, can recommend this as a great way to get your bearings in San Antonio. Guides are informative and occasionally funny. Even our family who lived in San Antonio learned some things, They didn't even know about the trolleys!! Don't you love it when you can teach the home team something? Tour hits the high points of the missions would love it if they added a feature that hits Espada and San Juan but nice to see the Queen and at least one other. Trolley times work great and they are generally on schedule. Only had one stop when the trolley was 15 minutes late, otherwise they are right there as they say they will be. Starting at the Alamo gives you time to see it and spend as much time as you need before jumping on and starting the tour. recommend this tour.
Had a great time! Trolley stayed on schedule both days! Drivers/guides very knowledgeable about their city and kept tour interesting. On-Off the way to go!
My 3 sisters and my niece just completed a 4 day trip to San Antonio. We purchased a hop On and Off ticket and it was very helpful to us. We were able to get a lift and a history lesson all in one. Each driver had a little bit different take on the city and it's history and it was great. Thanks for the memories!
Finding office and bus was confusing did not work as described. However, once that was settled the tour was great. Guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time.
To Much Walking For People Over 70 years.
started off bad, thought our voucher was our pass, had to take voucher to a business to get a pass, this put us an hour behind due to having to wait for next Trolley. With that said this was an informative tour, our driver was a little dramatic but knowledgeable. I would recommend, but let people know they have to get a pass before boarding.
I booked the trolley tour on line and had a voucher for the trip. The phone number on the voucher was no longer in use so we could not reach anyone to talk to. I had read through someone else's review that the voucher had to be turned in for a pass or I wouldn't have known that. The trick was to find where someone with the trolley company was located to do this. Apparently this company moves around a lot and does not have a stationary spot to work out of. After asking several people and visiting the store front for the double decker busses, I finally located the company in a corner ice cream shop blocks from the Alamo. There were two people working in the back of the shop using material out of cardboard boxes. We finally got the pass we needed with instructions to go back to the Alamo and look for the green and red trolley. Guess what. They are painting the trolly and it is now brown with a different name. A couple from Europe got on and explained they had waited for hours the day before and no one came to pick them up. The trolley woman explained that one trolley broke down and they were working with only one instead of two. She apologized. The tour guide was great after all the chaos we had gone through to get on the trolley. We saw things like the working flour mill and restaurant and parts of the city I am sure we would have missed otherwise. The market was worthwhile and the trolley was on time for pickup at the stops where we got off. I would never book ahead again. I would wait until I got there to make sure what was going on. It was very unorganized and a little iffy when there was no permanent place of business.
I was told this would be a private tour, but the office and the driver told us that it was not, and he did take on additional persons. The drive/narrator began his monologue with This is NOT going to be a fun tour... which is not what we wanted to hear with 10 kids on board. We got there early and he came on to tell us we would leave promptly at 10:30, then he got off the bus and had a cigarette in his mouth by the time he took 10 steps off the bus, which, again, is not what we wanted our kids to see. When he got to the next-to-last stop, he let some people off and told some people waiting to board that this was a private tour, that they could not board. I don't know why he changed his mind at the end of the tour. Extremely dissatisfied with the whole experience.
