Tequila, Tacos and Tombstones Culinary Tour

Tequila, Tacos and Tombstones Culinary Tour

Meet your guide at the designated spot in Old Town San Diego, then start your walking tour through the 'Birthplace of California’ — a place that has witnessed Native American life, early Spanish settlements, Mexican Independence and the California gold rush.

Your guide shares the history of Old Town as you stroll at a leisurely pace, stopping into four top-rated eateries along the way. Sample a variety of authentic Mexican specialties and enjoy enough tastings to make up a meal, including tastes of delicious tacos, salsas and fresh tortillas made to order. You also get to sample cocktails made with tequila — the popular Mexican liquor that goes into margaritas and other classic drinks, while listening to live mariachi music at some of your destinations.

With Old Town’s long history, it has also collected a number of ghost stories. Walk past adobe homes from the early 19th century to allegedly haunted spots, including El Campo Santo Cemetery and Whaley House, which the TV show ‘America's Most Haunted’ named the most haunted house in America. Admire the mid-nineteenth century Greek Revival building as your guide shares details of its spooky history.

After 2.5 hours, your tour ends at the historic Cosmopolitan Hotel.

This tour was a great introduction to the Old Town of San Diego! We tried a few local specialties which were very tasty, and we really enjoyed the fact that we were in 4 different local restaurants in one evening, and trying different typical food and drinks. We also loved that it felt like being in Mexico for the evening, but without having to travel there and feeling very safe! I would really recommend it!

Fun and tasty tour of Old Town. Had good margarita's and tacos at each stop. You will get full, don't worry. Each restaurant stop give you enough time to sit, chat and order drinks at the bar if you're that thirsty.
