What You Can Expect

3-Day Yosemite Camping Adventure from San Francisco

May Lake, Yosemite National Park

After leaving San Francisco in your air-conditioned minivan, you will cross the Central Valley and travel through gold country into the mountains. Before reaching Yosemite you will stop for a pleasant hike in the shade of the giant sequoia trees, some of which date back over a thousand years. You will then descend to the most photographed part of Yosemite that was so revered by American photographer and environmentalist Ansel Adams. After some free time in Yosemite Valley, you will head for the campsite to set up tents and have a relaxing drink (drinks not included).

On Day Two you will enjoy a full day of hiking, sightseeing and exploring Yosemite's stunningly beautiful High Country. Take a gentle stroll to May Lake, a picturesque High Sierra lake, and head onwards to Mount Hoffman (snow conditions depending) and take in the 360-degree view of the surrounding mountain landscape. At the end of the day you will head back to camp for dinner and time to unwind by the campfire.

Day Three is a free day, with the itinerary based on the interests of the group. Choose from a number of great hikes, rent a bike, or simply relax in the shade by the emerald green Merced River. In May, June and early July, you also have the option of joining a whitewater rafting trip on the Merced River (additional cost, and depending on conditions). After a full day in the great outdoors, head back to San Francisco refreshed and revitalized from your trip to Yosemite National Park.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended December 2013

I had such a good time. Food wasn't great but my guide, Shamus, was very good.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended November 2013

I took this tour just as the US Government Closure was causing havoc with people going into National Parks, so officially, I didn't get to see Yosemite. However, our guide Seamus, found us some alternative sites outside of the Yosemite border and I can honestly say that we didn't miss put on a thing - in fact I think we got more out of this trip! Seamus made the trip so special for us and we saw some amazing sites and did some great hikes. And, he's a great camp cook. Highly recommend this trip, this company and our guide.
