Your tour begins in the morning at Fisherman's Wharf, where you'll meet your guide and hop on your minibus for a drive around San Francisco. Over the course of the day, you'll get a look at the city's diverse neighborhoods and geography, stopping at several locations where you can hop off the bus to take photos and look around a bit.
Head across San Francisco Bay via the Golden Gate Bridge to get to Muir Woods Redwood National Monument, where you can marvel at the ancient redwood trees for over an hour. On the way back to the city, stop in the waterfront town of Sausalito for lunch (own expense).
Back in the city, you'll board a 3:20pm ferry from Pier 33 for the ride across the bay to Alcatraz Island, home to the former prison of the same name. Enjoy the prison's fascinating audio tour as you explore the cellblock, and then return to Pier 33 on the ferry to end your day tour.
