Meet for this Alcatraz and San Francisco tour  at Pier 33. Make sure you've picked up your voucher beforehand at Pier 41.

Board a scenic ferry to Alcatraz. Arrive at Alcatraz, a former federal prison that's now a National Park and get a brief orientation to the maximum security facility, which operated from 1934 to 1963. Pick up your self-guided audio tour, available in ten languages, and start exploring. Listen to commentary from former staff and inmates and learn about the stints that famous inmates such as Machine Gun Kelly and Al Capone served. When you're finished looking around, hop on the next ferry (ferries depart every thirty minutes) and head back to Pier 33.

For the San Francisco portion of your tour, meet at the designated spot on Post Street. Drive along the city's waterfront, and take in views of the San Francisco Bay, stopping for photos at Twin Peaks, Golden Gate Park, and the Golden Gate Bridge (weather permitting).

Other attractions visited on this tour include some of the city's famous Victorian homes, Chinatown, the Palace of Fine Arts, Fisherman's Wharf, the Presidio, and North Beach. Your tour ends back on Post Street.

Likely to Sell-out! Alcatraz regularly sells out weeks in advance. Book ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

The schedule for the day depends on the availability for Alcatraz. You will be advised of the tour schedule 72-hours prior to tour date.

Great day in the city. We went ahead and got our tickets the day before for Alcatraz and it was very easy to do. The trip was great out and back. Then we headed over to the bus area. It was a bit confusing on where to go but everyone was helpful. We loved our bus driver Joanne. I have a newfound respect for bus drivers in the city. Great time had by all. My teenage daughter said her favorite part of the trip was the bus tour. We saw places we didn't even know where there. We also found out that the fog that rolls into the city has a name and a following on social media. Fun fact!! This is our second time booking through Viator and so far we have had great time and experiences.

The trip to Alcatraz was very interesting. Approaching the island by ship increased the tension to what we will be presented to us. The audio tour is absolutely fantastic and very exciting! The bus tour, the next day, gave us a good overall picture to SF. Unfortunately the fog and the temperature were quite low, but the bus driver was entertaining and funny.

Thought it would be hassle free but what was told did not happen. Cheaper to book single trips. Alcatraz and Hope on and off bus. Nightmare time and missed out on city tour as just gave up running around get to g tickets. Waste of money having got 2 tickets.

My family of 4 did both tours yesterday. We only had enough time to do the tour around the inside of the prison before we had to leave to get back for the city tour. So there was a bunch of things we didn’t get to see but honestly we were ok with that. You could spend all day at Alcatraz just looking at all the buildings. The city tour was really comfy and fun. Plenty of stops and picture opportunities.

Smiling and pleasant people needed at customer services desk. Due to constant flow of tourist, we experinced rude and grumy faces at customer service desk.City tour guides are nice.

Alcatraz tour is worth doing but the city tour included in this package is disappointing. Alcatraz is a must see attraction---historical and educational. Ticket redemption is tricky and can get a little confusing, so I would recommend that Alcatraz tickets be purchased separately instead of doing a combo tour.

This city tour is literally a drive around the city and the way it was handled was pretty disappointing. First, the driver wasn't engaging and didn't share much trivia or interesting information. Our first two stops were the Palace of Fine Arts and Golden Gate Bridge. The driver announced that we only have 10 minutes to see the place, take pictures, and get back on the bus. Meaning, if we stopped at 2:30, we should leave at 2:40. Our bus was full with passengers and unfortunately we were seated at the back, so before we could get off, our 10 minutes is almost over. We're always rushing to take pictures so we could get back on time. I don't know what kind tour that is. in our succeeding stops I noticed that a number of people opted to not go down anymore. Felt so bad for them. Our last stop was the Golden Gate park. The driver announced that we'll spend 20 mins in the area. I was expecting to hear from him stories about the park, what's inside it, what to see, etc. But he just said he'll drop us off on one side and he'll meet us on the other side after 20 mins. Meaning, we'll exit the bus and just cross to the other side where the bus will be waiting. There is a fountain and cute trees along the way for photo ops. But that's it. He didn't bother to share insights or trivia about the park. Very few people went down to take pics, it was really upsetting. I have done tours in other cities and this was the worst I've had experienced. I would recommend doing the Hop-on Hop off tour instead.
