What You Can Expect

Monterey, Carmel and 17-Mile Drive Day Trip from San Francisco

Private Monterey and Carmel Day Trip from San Francisco

After morning pickup at your San Francisco hotel, cruise down scenic Highway 1 and let your guide handle the driving while you soak up views of the Pacific Ocean.

After curving around the Monterey Peninsula, stop in the coastal city of Monterey. Enjoy two hours of free time here to grab a fresh seafood lunch on the pier (own expense) or browse the shops of Cannery Row. Upgrade to see the jellyfish and sea otters up close at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Continue along the coast with a ride down 17-Mile Drive, home to the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Course and the Lone Cypress tree. Listen for the barking clamor of Seal Rock with a stop along this low-lying coastal road framed by mansions and ocean vistas. Further along, visit the chic coastal community of Carmel-by-the-Sea, where you can browse high-end galleries and see remnants of a historic Spanish mission.

On the return drive to San Francisco, take an alternate route through the tech haven of Silicon Valley. Your full-day tour concludes with drop-off back at your hotel in the early evening.

this is a lovely trip and I had a thoroughly great time. Here again the guides unclear English made it difficult to understand details.

It is a long day, but the views going down the Pacific coast and on 17-mile drive are excellent. In Monterey I only visited the aquarium, but this had a good selection of wildlife well displayed. Carmel is very tidy and neat. The driver was entertaining throughout.

Great tour. loved the scenery and the Monterey aquarium.
There was a mix up in communications regarding my pick-up, so I ended up having to catch and cab to get to the office.

I enjoyed the stops along the way to Monterey. The bus driver was very pleasant and made the ride interesting. Little disappointed in the stop in Carmel as the stores were closing early since it was a Sunday.
