Took the family on this trip when they came to visit over Thanksgiving, and am very glad I did! Great narration throughout the trip made the trek to the Muirwoods very engaging and fun. There is so much history in SF and beautiful views/sights the whole journey from the departure from Fisherman's Wharf area least favorite part, as a new local... to the Muirwoods and Sausolito! Highly recommend for anyone visiting SF with 4-5 hours starts at 9am and you get back around 1 or later if you choose to take a later Ferry back or even for locals that haven't been!
The driver was great - Man that could could maneuver that bus! The tour was wonderful and except for waiting for late comers a very enjoyable time. Mony well spent.
Excellent trip. Muir Woods and Sausalito well worth a visit. Good value for money.
My husband and I really enjoyed the bus trip to Muir Woods. It was in the early morning when the Woods were not too crowded. The Bay Cruise was a great boat ride. I only wish that we had more time in Sausalito!
Fantastic trip to the Muir Woods and Sausalito. Great views of the city, Golden Gate Bridge, and Muir Woods.
My girlfriend and I had a blast over memorial day weekend going to Muir Woods and Sausalito on a Sunday. We were picked up at our hotel at 8am and dropped off at the tour office to get on our tour bus and head out. The office was a little hectic early in the morning and took a few minutes to figure out which bus we were supposed to be on but it was not a major inconvenience. When we headed out, our tour bus driver for the day gave us a little background on various sights we saw throughout San Francisco. He was the first highlight of the trip. I cannot remember his name but he whistled when he talked and he was a wealth of knowledge about San Francisco, Muir Woods, and Sausalito. We arrived at Muir Woods and had an hour and 15 minutes to explore due to parking time limit I believe. Muir Woods was beautiful and wasnt too crowded over the holiday weekend which was a big plus. We hiked the main trail down to bridge 4 and took the Hillside trail back which was cutting it pretty close to our time limit and I believe we were the last ones on the bus but we made it. I cannot recommend Muir Woods enough. It was amazing to see this huge redwoods that are hundreds of years old. We continued on to Sausalito and were dropped off near the ferry terminal. We opted to take the ferry back instead of the bus since we could take the ferry whenever we were ready as opposed to the bus which only allowed about an hour in Sausalito. We walked around some of the shops and made our way past a little beach to Le Garage for brunch. This place was really good and didn't have a terribly long wait. Afterwards we went to Lappert's ice cream and ate that while waiting in line for the ferry. The ferry dropped us off at pier 41 so we walked to pier 39 to see the sea lions and over to Lombard street to watch that craziness. You can also get a bus back to your hotel up until 5 or 530 so we headed back to the tour office and, after a 15 min wait, were taken back to our hotel.
This tour was excellent, the view from the bus was excellent, the stop at Muir Woods was beautiful though I wish we had spent more time there and skipped Sausalito. The tour guide was fun and very sweet to my nervous mom. He made her laugh. We even made an additional stop with a view of the GGB it was spectacular wowww
The Driver was funny and informative he was prompt. we were glad we chose Viator
Our tour guide, Kenneth, was terrific. Entertaining and full of interesting facts and trivia. Muir Woods is awesome, wish we had more time to explore. Same with Sausalito. Bus was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this tour.
John was a superlative tour guide. Our trip was filled with fun and entertaining facts. Would recommend you see the wonder of the Muir Woods and the the quaintness of Saualiito area. Be sure to have some fish and chips. Thanks for a great day..
Our Tour guide Danny was awesome. He made it entertaining and fun as well as very informative.
Picked up at hotel at 8 am prompt
Enjoy our hike at Muir Woods only thing is we would have liked more time l- Was there for 1.15 hour
Glad we took the tour bus because parking is limited
Sausalito is a nice walking town fun shopping n great restaurants. We ferry back $11.00 per adult
What a wonderful afternoon! We were picked up at our hotel and brought to the main office. Our tour then took off on time. The tour driver was knowledgeable, friendly and made the afternoon fun.

The tour was excellent. The scenery wonderful and the length and time of the tour was just about right. One negative the driver was a bit too chatty with a lot of superfluous information
A wonderful trip. We would have liked about another 30 minutes in Sausalito. The tour company was not organized and lost our verified confirmation. Took about one hour of standing in line for them to make things right. Very frustrating.
I loved my Muir Woods/Sausalito experience! This half day tour is perfect for people who are pressed for time and don't want to commit to a whole day tour. Our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable about San Francisco and the surrounding areas. After we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, we stopped at a scenic spot for five minutes to take pictures. The amount of time we spent in Muir Woods was perfect, although I could have spent a whole day there because it was so beautiful. This is a great value for the price!
My only complaint was that I paid $11 extra on Viator to take the ferry back from Sausalito to San Francisco, but when I got there the tour company said that the ferry fare was not included in the tour. I don't know if this was a miscommunication between Viator and Grey Line Tours, but it was a little disappointing when I thought I had paid for the ferry experience and didn't get it.
We live loved this tour. Muir Woods looks like a place where you'd find little fairies. It was magical and our tour guide was great.
The woods are amazing, but try and pick a day were its not raining! Otherwise the paths are under water and you need to dress accordingly.
Sausalito is smaller than I expected, so an hour is enough there.
The return by ferry is nice, you'll have a really nice view of the skyline and the Golden Gate bridge.
I would recommend this option.
Our driver was amazing, very knowledable and super-friendly.
The tour itself was amazing driver with a sense of humor. Glad that we took a bus tour to Muir Woods because personal car parking is a pain! Too little time in Sausalito - would probably take a separate trip there. Unfortunately there was confusion about pickup from the hotel - we were told to wait in the lobby but when the concierge checked, they found out that the bus had come and gone, picking guests up outside the hotel! Fortunately, they reimbursed our Lyft fare!:
