First, Muir Woods does not allow guided tours within the park - this is actually great, because it keeps the park quiet so you can enjoy how breathtaking it is in peace. We ended up with 1 hour and 20 minutes inside the park, which was the perfect amount of time to walk the main loop, catch the best sights, and hit the gift shop. When we booked we were concerned that wouldn't be long enough, but was just right.
Specific to this tour - we could not imagine having a better tour guide than Patrick! Our trips to and from Muir Woods were highly entertaining and educational. He clearly knew a great deal about San Francisco, Sausalito, and Muir Woods. We didn't expect his additional knowledge of local music and movie history, which ended up being one of our favorite parts of the tour.
Patrick was hilarious, informative, and helpful. Book the morning tour, catch the sun rays gleaming through the tree branches, then stay later in Sausalito for the fare and shops - you won't regret it!
Great tour, gorgeous, really indescribable. Would highly recommend. Out tour guide, Paul, was wonderful!
A very impressive place. Great to travel in a small tour. Luxurious bus, as it was EASY to see all on the journey to- and from- Muir Woods.
Make sure that you stop and listen to the Park Guide. The one we had was EXCEPTIONAL. Great presentation, involving the entire audience.
HIGHLY recommend it.
Very much enjoyed our tour. Guide Greg was friendly, informed, and entertaining. Would definitely recommend the tour. Do things you should include admission fee to Muir Woods in price. Since we took the ferry back to San Fran our fee only covered transportation one way +Greg's info.
Tour was fantastic. Very clean, on-schedule and enjoyable. Enough driver chatter that made the tour interesting and memorable, but enough space and quiet to truly take it all in. Would recommend to anyone.
My favorite experience and the driver was very nice and patient because I am an elder woman. Thank you!
I had a wonderful time on this tour. Our tour guide named Greg was very knowledgeable and also very funny. He gave us a wonderful history lesson of the sights we passed by on our way to Muir Woods and Sausalito. I gave it 4 stars, because our time in Sausalito was only 1 hour. It would have been nice to have at least 1.5 hours or 2 hours. Also, it was not disclosed that we had to pay the 10 entrance fee to Muir Woods. It would have been nice to know that you would have to pay the entrance fee prior to booking the tour. Other than that, I enjoyed the trip.
The tour was great - Muir woods is beautiful and the tour gives time to wander round ourselves!
The bus we were on was very bouncy but the tour guide was great and had something to see at every turn in the road.
Sausalito is a very nice town and the views from the harbour are definitely worth seeing
I really enjoyed hiking through Muir Woods. It was very peaceful and serene, almost majestic even.
This tour was good we really enjoyed the woods however would have preferred a little longer in the woods. We only stopped for an hour then went to Sausalito. Sausalito is a cute little town and I would recommend visiting it. Again the stop isn't really long enough for lunch. We opted to stay and make our own way back via the ferry at our own additional expense.
Nice small tour on van. The driver/guide was very knowledgable amd pleasant. He arrived in front of our hotel on time amd was an excellent drover. The Muir Woods- Sauselito tour over the Golden Gate Bridge is a perfect experience when you're in San Francisco for a few days.
Loved Muir Woods. Sausalito was a waste of time. Would rather have stopped at Golden Gate on way back.
Advertising for this tour misleading as there were no giant redwoods, just mighty tall. Had asked for front seat because of travel sickness, had not been reserved. Small tour bus very old and uncomfortable.
our tour was good,Muir woods excellent would have enjoyed more time there!!! Sauslito was good but hardly any time only 45 minutes, but it started raining so our driver took us through the city on our way back to hotel.
The trip was nice. We had a very friendly guide from SF who knew a lot about the city and informed us while driving to our first stop.
We had an hour at our first stop. I'm a fast tourist and an hour was enough. For others it might be too short. The 2nd stop in Sausilito was 30 minutes, which is definitely too short.
All in all I liked the tour because it was nice to cross the bridge and head into nature and have a stop at Sausilito.
I would say the tour is worth doing, but the price might cause you to have higher expectations. But then again, San Francisco simply isn't cheap :-
Muir woods was wonderful. Could have skipped Sausalito. Driver was very difficult to hear even after we asked him to speak up.
The driver/ tour guide was very fair. He was hard to hear and spoke rapidly. He was not very engaging.
