Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Even if you've never been on a Segway before, the terrific instructors give you confidence. And their informative and lighthearted commentary makes this an easygoing sojourn along the San Francisco Bay with first-class views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.
A Segway tour in San Francisco gives you the ease of exploring the city on wheels while still enjoying being outside in the open air. You’ll cover more ground than walking but won’t be trapped inside a tour bus, and the Segway is easy to use, which you’ll discover during a 35- to 45-minute practice session with your guide.

When you’re comfortable on your Segway, your waterfront tour starts as you follow your guide past Fisherman’s Wharf and the city’s many sights along San Francisco Bay. You’ll make plenty of stops to take photos and listen to commentary from your guide.

See attractions like Aquatic Park, the Dungeness crab stands, the turnaround for the city’s iconic cable cars, Ghirardelli Square, the National Maritime Museum and historical ships docked at Hyde Street Pier, Fish Alley, the Fisherman’s Chapel, and the submarine Pampanito. Pause to take in views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, and learn about the city’s fishing industry and seafood processing.

After this introduction to one of San Francisco’s most popular districts, your Segway tour ends back at the starting point.

This is a must tour to do. Our guide Jessy was knowledgeable and fun. We covered a lot of ground in San Francisco. This tour gives you an opportunity to see San Francisco and then chose where you want to go visit first.

Horrible experience where they asked us to leave partway through the tour because the guide could not manage a large group and other participants had damaged their segways and they wanted to use ours.

Detailed background:
1. As per the Viator Overview of this tour: Limited to six people, this tour provides a small-group experience. We booked as a group of 6 and even communicated this in our booking comments, so they were well aware we were arriving as a full party. However, when we the 6 of us arrived, we were added in with another group of 4 taking the size of the tour up to 10 people. We went ahead with the flow.
2. Once the tour started, it was clear that the guide was also not happy with the increased group size.
3. Within less than 30 minutes the tour started, 2 segways from the other group of 4 got damaged and stopped working. The guide got very angry and spoke in a condescending tone with my dad and also with me. She basically wanted to get 2-3 of us off the tour so she could continue - and started making a pretext that the guide has the right to throw off people from the tour. And most surprisingly, the damaged segways were from the other group of 4 Americans and one of them had also fallen down and had trouble on the tour. But the guide clearly wanted us to leave instead. Intended or not, this made her seem incredibly prejudiced.
4. Further to the above, we group of 6 were not ready to leave family behind, and told her that either all or none will proceed. She then decided to drop all of us from the tour and proceeded with the other group of 4.
5. We have travelled from India and today was our first day at SF, and these guys left no stone unturned to make it the most horrible experience for us. Both the guide and the admin staff were rude and not ready to provide any reasoning for anything - saying clearly that they are not discussing this. Their business seems like a joke, where they only know how to disrespect foreigners and elders.
6. And, most certainly, these guys do not deserve to be on Viator. They do not even fulfill the promise of 6-people group which is in the first paragraph of their Overview - and they seem to mistreat Viator clients, even saying that we are Viator clients, not theirs!
